I feel bad doing certain photos sometimes, believe me it was painful to take these, and I've yet to show the others, but I felt like they needed to be done. I'm not a wealthy person, I'm not living on the street, but I've been close a couple times. It is interesting to me how polarizing bums are for people to look at and for photographers to take photos of like they are some kind of spectacle. I guess this is my way of expressing that and dealing with my own guilt of having the same type of feelings. I'm sorry if you don't like it, I understand it won't sit well with some people.And yes it's spelled wrong I know.

That is really an interesting "project" to take these photos ! People should see how other poor people are living and try to help them ... in different ways, like give them the feeling they are also a part of our world no matter if they are poor ... or rich ... only the golden heart matters ...

I hope you keep showing the series - people need to see a statement like this. If I owned a real gallery, you'd be the feature for a "must see" showing. Contrary to the above commenter, I don't think it's anyone's fucking concern whether you paid them or gave them a coupon - that's totally not the point. I don't want to know. The fact that these guys were willing to hold up a sign for you meant they got it too... homeless people aren't stupid, they're just homeless. Please keep this going - because I hope it makes someone feel guilty enough to do something generous for one of these men and women the next time they brush the dirt off their feet as they walk past them without a second glance... stop and ask them what their story is. Have a smoke with them. You know?

I guess you can see how passionate I am about the homeless - particularly our vets. It just really bothers me and makes me feel small that I can't do anything about it really... you know?
