Description
This is an older image that I have now chosen to upload. Here you can see the following pair of our 3 ship formation of RAF CH47 HC mk2 Chinooks. the triling cab is just obscured in the heat haze off of number 2 cabs T-55 714 engines. For some reason I had not uploaded this despite it being my walpaper for some 2 years!
Not often you get to enjoy aviation photography, whilst flying with such fantastic light. Also the aviation photographers here might enjoy the focal length needed for this. I nearly had to go wider a few times!
Here are some more Chinook shots I have taken

You might need to remind me later but I might have a photograph of BN somewhere that you might enjoy as you both share a name

Yes indeed ZA718, better known as Bravo November is a very famous Chinook in the RAF as the only Chinny to servive the Falklands war. Since then it has racked up quite a few battle honours Β that you can read about on wikipedia .
Somewhat annoyingly I can't find it on this computer. I'll have a look on my laptop later. I hope it's not been deleted!

Well I'm glad I mentioned it.
I found the photographs I was thinking of, they were hidden in a folder after a macro shoot on portsdown hill.
Sadly it wasn't ZA718 but ZD981 so sorry I don't have a picture of BN for you but I hope the little "knowledge bomb" was interesting at least.

I love the Chinook. One of my favorite aircraft. You sir, are a very lucky man. I'd love to get this close to the action

So join up and get involved.
I have been very lucky to be able to photograph these beasts in action. I never get bored of shooting them.

I want to be a photographer..not a soldier

you can do that as well. Either Civi or military, photographers often find themselves in the places where these things roam.
I would love to be a photo journalist. A proper one that is, not a paparazzi pain in the ass. With the 5 second attention span people have these days it must be a very tricky job but no doubt rewarding.

I'm trying my best to do as well as I can in photography, but it's very difficult. And the military is still a 'no-go' for civilians
