Description
Well getting out to see this girl was the real bonus of coming here.I hadn't seen the Vulcan indoors so asked after her and was instructed to ask the guy running the sim who let me out back for a nose.
Like many aircraft sat outside, she has seen better days. But nice to see another Vulcan especially in such an intriguing setting.
XM573 was delivered to the museum in 1982.
Many years sat outside are starting to show evidenced by the jet pipes that have rotted through. Fingers crossed some help comes soon.
Part of a series of images shot at the Strategic Air and Space Museum Nebraska. You can read about this aircraft and others onΒ their website .
Here are some more pictures of XM573

Great image of her. I have tried a similar image of the Vulcan at Cosford, but alas your image is far better than my attempt at an interesting angle of those massive engines.

Shooting in museums is tricky so does make you get creative and yes those engines are a big draw.
I had a little more lens angle to play with and worked the angles to fit everything in and make something of the geometry. What I like about yours is the framing of the tail number by the exhausts and that 598 is a damn sight healthier looking!
