I know I feel like I should have been born in the 70's or 60's. I wanted to live in the 80's dammit. >:[A stamp for all those peeps who wanted to live in these fun times.

agreed! it's one thing to like the aesthetics of the decade and the music or whatever, but to pretend everything was peachy back then is to openly ignore all of the terrible shit that was going on at the time.
it's especially irritating when people say this about the 80s, because i notice a lot of people LOVE glamorizing that decade despite all of the horrible shit that was going on back then. like, you really want to live through the AIDS crisis? reaganomics? because of some cartoons and music? weird flex, but okay.

during the height of the Cold War? Be a teenager in 1983 or 1962? When everyone was fearing a nuclear holocaust? Where people were afraid of WW3 to happen?
Well, if it so, you don't have to worry. Things haven't changed, so in terms of nuclear warfare and global scapegoats we're still pretty 1950s-1980s
I'm opposed to this, but I kind of understand why some people would want to live in a past decade

Lot of bad stuff in every decade. Nostalgia is foolhardy in some situations like this. Those who are born in the current era do not know how good they have it now, and kids generations from now will look back on our art, music, movies, and celebrities and think "Man, I wish I was born in that era" and not see the beauty of what their own has brought, thus continuing the cycle.Β

This is a 6 year old stamp and I no longer agree with the sentiments of it anymore. I do agree with you that all of these eras had bad points and the future is a lot better. The thing is that you only see the eras for what it was good for, but the bad elements are often ignored or hidden and that's why people feel they like older eras.

I was born in the late 90's. but I wish I was born in the boomer decade because of the things my mother told me about the 1960's or 1970's, how amazing they where compared too now. I honestly don't hate the 2010's but I wish we could focus on technology that would benefit mankind rather technology that would make things easier (for some people) like they did back then.
