DISABLED COMMENTS: I'm beyond tired of the name dropping going on in the comments. Please do not note me about people 'who need to be blocked' don't air your dirty laundry upon other people.No one was reading the description:
-I do not care about who you are talking about.
- It's not relevant
- I really don't care about drama you're involved in and I'm really not interested
-it might entice the user to search their name and see the comment and start arguing with you on this page.
-Please do not ask me if what you're doing is okay. It probably is okay, unless you block for the reasons below.

If you don't block people for the following reasons:
-Someone disagrees with your opinion(s)
-Someone isn't kissing your ass, or not saying nice things to you or about your art
-Someone critiqued you
-Someone called you out on your bullshit
-A friend of yours told you that X deviant is a bitch/douchebag since they were a 'meany-head' to them and/or had a disagreement.
-Some deviant you saw wrote a journal saying "BLOCK THIS PERSON!!"
-You NEVER even spoke to that person, but you think they are an obnoxious person due to their journals or the way they talk
-You find the user using 'offensive' language. i.e: cuss words and/or other mature content in their gallery.
-A user told you what you were doing/behavior was wrong and you're trying to cover up your ass
-Someone trolled you
-Someone else blocked you
-To avoid confrontation
-To avoid someone replying back to you in an argument/debate, basically coward out.
-You feel like it
-You don't even remember why you didn't like them, but you block them anyway
-It makes you in the 'right' or automatically win an argument
-it will possibly end up making the blocked user harass you more

Edit: When it's okay to block:
-Someone is repeatedly harassing you, or looking for drama on your page.
-Someone is trolling and it's not just "u suck" "go suck my cock" comments that are just a hit and run. I mean people who literally don't stop and ignoring isn't doing the job.
-When someone is constantly bothering you about a fight you had and you're over it. You block them and they use sock puppet accounts to harass you.
Of course there are exceptions to the rule. If things get out of hand, it would be wise to block, but do so at your own discretion.

When someone blocks me after a first reply to a comment I made, it's a badge of victory for me! They realize that they lack the emotional maturity nor the intellectual capacity to deal with my responses.
If he blocks me, then I'll block him in kind. Because blocking me doesn't stop me from talking about him elsewhere. It's hilarious when he gets all riled up and confesses his disdain towards me among his internet 'friends'. What a bitch he is.
Sometimes I need to censure myself by blocking someone I disagree with socio-politically before I even make contact. Exchange of words could get ugly so why bother communicating? Of course that doesn't stop me from talking about him elsewhere and carefully codifying his identity so that only my associates would know who I'm talking about.

Wow dude... you could of just easily blocked the comments if you don't want to hear a lot of the stuff that's according to your statement. I was just curious why you left it on for this long. Though, I probably don't need the answer. C'est La Vie! I only half agree with this stamp only because there is no one right criteria on how to block people. Everyone has numerous reasons to block or. If they block because someone critique, that is their criteria. There's is no set boundaries or rules to use it the right or wrong way because it is pretty much in neutral usage. Just like how right and wrong varies from person to person, the same goes for blocking. Sometimes, in some cases I always wonder why should anyone really care to find the reason they were blocked. Heck, I was blocked a lot and probably don't care to seek that reason. Furthermore, it's the internet. It is what it is.

I could have, yes but I honestly blocking comments has never been my thing, but it could probably stop the unwanted behavior so easily so you aren't wrong.
I'm not trying to dictate how people should run their own pages. In short, this basically says "Don't abuse the block feature".

I agree with you. I know i get annoyed if someone blocks over selfish reasons such as "you like harry potter so therefore you're blocked!" or simply to win a civil argument, etc., but they still have the right to block regardless of the reason. What people need to do is just move on and let it go instead of bringing attention to it. It can be annoying but it's not the end of the world as some people make it out as. I like what the stamp says, but i agree with you about the rules.

When all things panned out, you are better off just moving on. Heck, I did. Whether the person blocked me from the right or wrong reason. At least, I know who should I avoid right? And if they do block you for the most idiotic reason I just say, "Hey, at least that's one less person I had to deal with in this crazy internet world."

To be honest, as long as I have been on deviant art, (even though my account doesn't show it) it seems to be a thing to cause drama or even wear it as a trophy that you got banned. Some people are weird like that. In the end, you just have to let them be. Eventually, they will realize in the long run that it's been a waste of time. And that's from experience.
