Ch. 4: Two Become One

(((((Ranma’s Point of View))))))
Ranma is swimming within the pool water in his girl form. He quickly tries to swim to the surface when Kuno accidently grabs her boobs. Ranma gets upset that he swiftly grabs hold onto him and jumps out of the pool in order to slam Kuno's body against the payment, "YOU JERK!"

(((((Megumi’s Point of View))))))
As soon as I took notice that Ranma jumped out of the water in his girl form I ran outside to find him. Luckily for Ranma, no one couldn't tell that he was in a girl form, instead they simply thought his body shrunk. I walked around the campus looking for him with a warm water in a pot. I suddenly hear a girl voice speak nearby on top of a tree.

"That Kuno jerk didn't have to squeeze my chest so hard!" Ranma squeezes his soaked pants, "Guess he must've figured out my secret by now."

I couldn't help but giggle, "I highly doubt that, Ranma"

"Eh?" Ranma looks down from the tree and was surprised to see me there, "Why you say that?"

Me: “He’s stupider than you think."

Ranma: “Oh? How would you know hmm?"

"Because is simply not smart enough to think like that, trust me." I picked up a small rock from the ground and threw it at Ranma.

The rock hit on Ranma's head, "Ow! What was that for?!"

I scolded him, "Why did you so something so stupid as to jump into the swimming pool like that?!"

Ranma eye's twitches out of anger as he responds to me with sticking out his tongue at me, "Ah Shut Up will yah you damn Stupid girl!"

Instead of getting angry, I smiled and looked away, "Oh I guess I am so stupid that I don't realize you need hot water to turn back to a boy so I'll simply just dump this silly hot water then." I gently spilled a little onto the ground.

"AH NO! Don't do it, Megumi!" Ranma yells.

I laughed until I heard approaching footsteps of Kuno, *OH No! He cannot see Ranma like this. I gotta help him.* "Hey Ranma! Catch!" I threw the pot to him.

"AH! Wait!" Ranma catches the pot, "Where you going?!"

"I'll stall Kuno until you change back!" I ran towards Kuno's direction.

"Wait! Megumi!" Ranma yells as he sees Megumi running off. He looks down at the hot pot within his grasp and then back to Megumi. *...Megumi...*

(((((Megumi’s Point of View))))))
"Kuno!" I yelled out to him as my school dress uniform glides with the wind, "I challenge you!" I get myself in a fighting position.

Kuno was surprised by this, "Megumi..." He smiles at me, "A challenge coming from you? Very well then." He gets in a fighting position. "If you defeat me, I shall allow you to date with me. But I am fully intend to lose!"

"Wait a minute! Who said anything about me wanting to date you?!" I yelled at him, which simply responds to me with a smirk. I carefully focus on how to carefully not get attacked by Kuno, *Ranma, change back into a boy whie I buy you some time!* Kuno swiftly swings his wooden katana at me, which I jumped over him. He does it again which causes me to jump over him once again. Furious that I was jumping over him that he gives me not time to jump over him again that he quickly attacks me.

"I have you now Megumi!" He yells as I catch his wooden sword between my hands.

I glared at him, "Fat Chance! You'll never have me Kuno!" I flipped over my back as I kicked Kuno on his stomach, making him fly over me while losing his wooden katana to me.

I accidently sent Kuno flying towards the tree that Ranma was. Out of cheer luck, Kuno lands his head on the hot pot that I gave Ranma. * OH NO! Ranma!* I shout within my head.

Kuno and Ranma, still in his girl form since he wasn't able to get the chance to turn back to a boy, face each other until Kuno spoke, "You're the one from before!"

"Hey! Why in the world you still look like that?!" I asked Ranma as I quickly approach the tree.

"I didn't get the chance to since you threw the damn pot far away from my reach that I had to struggle to find my balance back!" Ranma replied to me with an angry expression.

"Say, have you seen a strange man with a pigtail?" Kuno asked Ranma, in which Ranma shook her head. "Why that coward! He ran out in the middle of a battle! No doubt he feared my prowess. He's spineless! He is no man!" At that moment Ranma let go of the pot, which causes Kuno to fall yet again on his head on the ground. "Ow! That hurt you know!"

Ranma jumps down from the tree, "I can't believe what you're saying! I'll take you on anytime!" Ranma puts himself in a fighting position.

Kuno stood up, "This should be amusing. If you should manage to defeat me, Tatewaki Kuno, the Blue Thunder..." He grabs his wooden katana from my hands, "I shall allow you to date with me!" Kuno swung his sword, yet to be surprised to see the red head pigtail girl on top of his sword.

"Who asked for a date, for cryin' out loud?!" Ranma kicks Kuno straight to the face, which knocks him over. *Hmmm I guess Megumi was right. Kuno doesn't know I am me. Well in that case...* "I'll have you know Ranma Saotome's even better than me!" Ranma walks away before me calls out to me, "C'mon, let's go Megumi."

"But ahhh," I followed him, "Wait! We are still in the middle of class!"

Right before Kuno loses consciousness, "She is formidable! But...who is she?"

"I hear Megumi really looked out for you in school today, boy." Genma tells his son, Ranma, as they both train in the dojo.

Ranma: “It’s not like I asked her to."

Genma: “Foolish boy!"

Ranma sighed, "Here we go again."

"You wound me, Ranma!" Genma says as tears fall down his face, "Here you are a martial artist and yet you're incapable of uttering a single word of thanks. Ah, to think back on the sixteen years since you were born. Your father....Your father....and here I thought I'd given you everything. I had in trying to teach you what I know of martial arts and yet....and yet..!"

"Ah Shut Up Will Yah!" Ranma kicks a bucket of water towards his father causing him to turn into a panda. Genma, in panda form begins to yell at him.

"Sorry pops I don't speak panda." Ranma remarks with a smile since he knew that there was no hot water running in the house hold.

Ranma is laying down on his bed futon when his mind wonders through the day's events. His mind is mainly filled of Megumi. How she counter acts her morning routines with the boys who want to date her, she helped him dry out from the pouring rain by giving him a towel, she fetched him a hot pot of water, and stalled Kuno for his sake. *Megumi...You didn't have to do all those things for me...yet you did...*

Ranma felt like a jerk. He stood up, "I guess she does deserve from me to go thank her."

I hear a knock from my room, I was busy doing my homework to walk up and open it to see who it was, so I simply yelled,"Come in!"

"Megumi?"

"Hm?" I turned around to see my beloved twin sister, "What is it Akane?"

Akane: “Could I be in here with you? Nabiki has been annoying about..."

I cut her off knowing what she was going to say, "Ranma being your fiancée?"

She laughed, "Yeah I guess she already came to you already huh?"

I nodded, "Yep"

Akane sat on my bed, "So how much?"

I blink in confusion, "How much what?"

"To get rid of Nabiki?" Akane asked out of curiosity.

"2,000 yen [1]" I replied as I continued doing my homework.

Akane sighed, "She's smart when it comes to making money for herself." I nodded knowing how evil yet smart Nabiki could be to achieve her money.

We sadly both sighed then giggled, "So what did Nabiki nagged about Ranma?" I asked her.

She angry answered, "Oh same old same old you know. She keeps saying about how he is just a guy who turns to a girl. I mean I know that! She just doesn't understand how I feel about the whole situation, especially now that everyone knows that we our future fiancée!" Akane tightly squeezes my bed sheets out of anger.

"Hey! Watch out for my bed Akane!" I yelled.

"Ah I am sorry Megumi. I didn't mean to...ah say Megumi, what do you think about it?" She asks me.

"Huh?" I looked up from my homework, "Think about what?"

"What do you think about this whole fiancée thing about Ranma?"

At that moment Ranma appears next to my door to my room and was about to knock on my door when he herd Akane's question. He stopped because he was curious as to what type of response would I give her.

"Simple...I hate it, Akane." I closed my eyes shut as I snapped my pencil.

Ranma was kinda shocked. He didn't understand. So Ranma began to think that since I hate the whole fiancée thing then I must've hate him too. *Why in the world did she help me after all she says she hates me!? Tsk! To think I was going to thank her!* Ranma digs his hands into his pockets as he walks away from my door.

I opened my sad eyes, "Don't get me wrong, but I don't hate Ranma because it's not his fault...you know, Akane...all I wanted was to save the family dojo and to at least marry a guy who I love with. That's all I asked, but now I am being engaged to a guy who I don't even love..."

"Megumi..." Akane hugs her sister.

Ranma, Akane, and I are walking to school in silence until Ranma spoke, "Want me to help you guys?" He says this as he continues walking on the fence.

"Huh? With what?" I asked.

"With the beating-up-guys-morning-routine."

I shook my head, "No thank you, Ranma."

Ranma: "But you know they're gonna be after you two again today."

"I know. Don't worry Ranma we can handle it. Just worry about getting to class in time, ok?" I gave him a resurging smile
"Ok Whatever." He said kinda rudely. *You are a two face woman. How could you sound so nice to me yet hate me behind my back.* Ranma thinks to himself.

*What's his problem?* I asked myself noticing the rude gesture he gave me.

"Just don't talk to us on the way to school, Ranma. This is our business to take care of, so stay out of it."Akane announces.
Ranma: "Jeez. I was just trying to help yah know."

I smiled at him, "We know. Thank you for offering your help."

"Ah, Whatever." Ranma turns his head which causes me to frown.

Me: *What in the world is wrong with him? He acts as if I pissed him off in some way.*

As we ran to school, a huge stampede of guys rushes towards us. "Ready Megumi?" Akane asks as we approach the school gates.

"Hmph ready as always! Just let get this done and over with!" I said as I began to dodge and counter act their very own attacks, while Akane beat one guy after the other.

Ranma stands by and watches in disbelief. *This actually happens every morning?*

As we finished off the last guys, Akane speaks out, "Honestly. Every single morning. I'm sick of it."

I giggled, "I know and I am sick of it hearing you say that every morning."

"Hey!" She playfully shoved me.

Ranma:"Hey Megumi, Akane! What ever happened to that Kuno guy?"

We both shrugged as we both speaked out at the same time, "Who Knows and Who Cares."

Ranma:” I got a bad feeling about this."

Me & Akane: “Why?"

Ranma:"Ah! Hey cut that out!"

"What? What did I do?" We both blinked out of confusion.

"That! Speaking at the same time! It's freaking me out." Ranma points at the both of us.

We both looked at each other and smiled and giggled, "So? What's wrong with that?"

"Just cut it out. It's creepy when you do that." Ranma says as he walks by us.

"We are twins after all yah know." We happily said knowing we are creeping him out.

"Agh! Quit it!" Ranma cinches as we giggled.

Nabiki: "Yeah, I know her."
"You do?" Kuno said as he was about to take a bit of his lunch

"Oh, yeah. Know her really well." Nabiki says a she sat on Kuno's desk, "A girl who has a pigtail and wears Chinese clothes, right?"

Kuno: "Is this the truth, Nabiki Tendo?"

Nabiki: "I'm sure!"

"If she thinks she can best me once then walk away from me, I, Tatewaki Kuno, the undefeated rising new star of the high school fencing world, she is gravely mistaken." Kuno slams his chopsticks on the desk as he laughs like a mad man.

*Oh brother* Nabiki sweat drops on how ridiculous he sounds.

"Don't you guys get sick of doing this every single day?" Ranma says as he watches Akane and I spar against each other.
"Sure we do!" I said as I dodge Akane's punches.

"I am not sure how they could be attracted to you guys when ya'll two looks so uncute when you guys are cranky, you know." He said nonchantly.

Unknown to him I swiftly appeared in front of him as I quickly punched the wall that was next to Ranma's head, making a hole in it, "Say that again and I swear that I won't purposely miss next time, ok?" I said with a mischievous smile.

"Ah, suure." Ranma was shocked because my smile was frightening him.

"Yo Ranma!" Nabiki calls at to him as she hands him a letter to him.

"To the Tree-Borne Kettle Girl?" Ranma reads the cover of the letter.

"Who's it from?" I asked out of curiosity.

"It's from Kuno." Nabiki answers and then urges Ranma to open the letter, "To your girl half, anyway. He has no idea you're one and the same. Hurry up and read it!"

Ranma nods as he opens his letter, we all gather round him as he read the letter out loud, "To the Tree-Borne Kettle Girl, Please come to the second field of Furinkan High School this evening at 5:36 pm."

Akane: "It's a letter of challenge!"

Nabiki: "Don't worry Ranma. Kuno's a real sore loser. I'm sure there's gonna be blood."

Me: "I don't think you'd better not go."

Ranma: "Why the heck not?"

Me: "I don't want you to get yourself in more trouble than you are, Ranma. You have already cuase enough ciaos for yourself today. You don't need anymore."

Ranma: "So what! It's my business! Why do you care, Megumi?!"

"I know it’s your business but it's also my business if you’re gonna be part of this family through marriage then I gotta watch out for you in a way I know you won't give our dojo a bad name!" I gave him a stern look as I look straight into his eyes.

"Damn it!" Crunches up the letter, "I won't give this dojo a bad name, I promise you that! If you’re so damn worried that I am then why don't you come along with me then?"

"Hmph! Fine I will!" I threw a bucket of cold water at him.

"Ah Hey! What was that for?" Ranma yells at me with his girl voice as I walked out the training hall.

"Well you do need to show up as a girl remember!" I stuck at my tongue out at him before I made my exit.

"Why you!" Ranma growls as she mumbles to herself about me as she/he too leaves the training hall.

Nabiki is smiling happily. "How much did he pay you, Nabiki." Akane asks her smiling sister.

"Oh? Whatever are you talking about?"

"Don't play dumb Nabiki. I know you told Kuno that you must've known Ranma's girl form because there would be no other way Kuno would have known were to send the letter to." Akane crosses her arms.

"There is no harm done getting a quick chump of cash Akane." Nabiki says happily.

Akane simply sighs, "Oooooh Nabiki"

"He's late!" Ranma yells in his female form.

I sat on top of a tree with my back against the tree trunk. "Just be patient Ranma."

Ranma: "Grrrr! He's the one who called me here!"

"We only have 1 minute until the time he said to meet up, Ranma. If he doesn't show up then that's good right? We can go home without a scratch on your body." I said happily.

Ranma: “We are staying here until he shows up even if he's late. I don't want to leave and make him think that I was a coward that didn't show up! Just stay up there until he does. I don't want him to see you."

Me: "Whatever."

Suddenly Kuno appears, "The countryside lies in ruins and yet the mountains and rivers remain as they were. Pride goes before a fall. It shows that all which prospers, must also decline. It is now exactly 5:35 pm. The moment when the sunset here is at it's most beautiful. The rising young star of the fencing world, they call me, I, the Blue Thunder of Furinkan High, has arrived. Welcome, tree-born kettle-girl."

I sweat dropped from the tree, *Oh Brother.*

Ranma:"You don't give up, do you. Hey, what happened to that wooden stick of yours?"

Kuno: "I have no need of things such as that."

Ranma: "Ain't you the confident one!"

"Confident enough to give you this!" Kuno swiftly throws something at Ranma, which she catches. That something was a bouquet of roses. Ranma and I were shocked! I tried not to fall of the tree.

Kuno walks away before he announced what I least expected to Ranma, “Pig-tailed girl, I love you." Ranma was shocked that he didn't know how to react but his body did because his legs gave out.

*Ohhhh no. This isn't good.* I think to myself.

"I know. Don't worry Ranma we can handle it. Just worry about getting to class in time, ok?" I gave him a resurging smile
"Ok Whatever." He said kinda rudely. *You are a two face woman. How could you sound so nice to me yet hate me behind my back.* Ranma thinks to himself.

*What's his problem?* I asked myself noticing the rude gesture he gave me.

"Just don't talk to us on the way to school, Ranma. This is our business to take care of, so stay out of it."Akane announces.
Ranma: "Jeez. I was just trying to help yah know."

I smiled at him, "We know. Thank you for offering your help."

"Ah, Whatever." Ranma turns his head which causes me to frown.

Me: *What in the world is wrong with him? He acts as if I pissed him off in some way.*

As we ran to school, a huge stampede of guys rushes towards us. "Ready Megumi?" Akane asks as we approach the school gates.

"Hmph ready as always! Just let get this done and over with!" I said as I began to dodge and counter act their very own attacks, while Akane beat one guy after the other.

Ranma stands by and watches in disbelief. *This actually happens every morning?*

As we finished off the last guys, Akane speaks out, "Honestly. Every single morning. I'm sick of it."

I giggled, "I know and I am sick of it hearing you say that every morning."

"Hey!" She playfully shoved me.

Ranma:"Hey Megumi, Akane! What ever happened to that Kuno guy?"

We both shrugged as we both speaked out at the same time, "Who Knows and Who Cares."

Ranma:” I got a bad feeling about this."

Me & Akane: “Why?"

Ranma:"Ah! Hey cut that out!"

"What? What did I do?" We both blinked out of confusion.

"That! Speaking at the same time! It's freaking me out." Ranma points at the both of us.

We both looked at each other and smiled and giggled, "So? What's wrong with that?"

"Just cut it out. It's creepy when you do that." Ranma says as he walks by us.

"We are twins after all yah know." We happily said knowing we are creeping him out.

"Agh! Quit it!" Ranma cinches as we giggled.

Nabiki: "Yeah, I know her."
"You do?" Kuno said as he was about to take a bit of his lunch

"Oh, yeah. Know her really well." Nabiki says a she sat on Kuno's desk, "A girl who has a pigtail and wears Chinese clothes, right?"

Kuno: "Is this the truth, Nabiki Tendo?"

Nabiki: "I'm sure!"

"If she thinks she can best me once then walk away from me, I, Tatewaki Kuno, the undefeated rising new star of the high school fencing world, she is gravely mistaken." Kuno slams his chopsticks on the desk as he laughs like a mad man.

*Oh brother* Nabiki sweat drops on how ridiculous he sounds.

"Don't you guys get sick of doing this every single day?" Ranma says as he watches Akane and I spar against each other.
"Sure we do!" I said as I dodge Akane's punches.

"I am not sure how they could be attracted to you guys when ya'll two looks so uncute when you guys are cranky, you know." He said nonchantly.

Unknown to him I swiftly appeared in front of him as I quickly punched the wall that was next to Ranma's head, making a hole in it, "Say that again and I swear that I won't purposely miss next time, ok?" I said with a mischievous smile.

"Ah, suure." Ranma was shocked because my smile was frightening him.

"Yo Ranma!" Nabiki calls at to him as she hands him a letter to him.

"To the Tree-Borne Kettle Girl?" Ranma reads the cover of the letter.

"Who's it from?" I asked out of curiosity.

"It's from Kuno." Nabiki answers and then urges Ranma to open the letter, "To your girl half, anyway. He has no idea you're one and the same. Hurry up and read it!"

Ranma nods as he opens his letter, we all gather round him as he read the letter out loud, "To the Tree-Borne Kettle Girl, Please come to the second field of Furinkan High School this evening at 5:36 pm."

Akane: "It's a letter of challenge!"

Nabiki: "Don't worry Ranma. Kuno's a real sore loser. I'm sure there's gonna be blood."

Me: "I don't think you'd better not go."

Ranma: "Why the heck not?"

Me: "I don't want you to get yourself in more trouble than you are, Ranma. You have already cuase enough ciaos for yourself today. You don't need anymore."

Ranma: "So what! It's my business! Why do you care, Megumi?!"

"I know it’s your business but it's also my business if you’re gonna be part of this family through marriage then I gotta watch out for you in a way I know you won't give our dojo a bad name!" I gave him a stern look as I look straight into his eyes.

"Damn it!" Crunches up the letter, "I won't give this dojo a bad name, I promise you that! If you’re so damn worried that I am then why don't you come along with me then?"

"Hmph! Fine I will!" I threw a bucket of cold water at him.

"Ah Hey! What was that for?" Ranma yells at me with his girl voice as I walked out the training hall.

"Well you do need to show up as a girl remember!" I stuck at my tongue out at him before I made my exit.

"Why you!" Ranma growls as she mumbles to herself about me as she/he too leaves the training hall.

Nabiki is smiling happily. "How much did he pay you, Nabiki." Akane asks her smiling sister.

"Oh? Whatever are you talking about?"

"Don't play dumb Nabiki. I know you told Kuno that you must've known Ranma's girl form because there would be no other way Kuno would have known were to send the letter to." Akane crosses her arms.

"There is no harm done getting a quick chump of cash Akane." Nabiki says happily.

Akane simply sighs, "Oooooh Nabiki"

"He's late!" Ranma yells in his female form.

I sat on top of a tree with my back against the tree trunk. "Just be patient Ranma."

Ranma: "Grrrr! He's the one who called me here!"

"We only have 1 minute until the time he said to meet up, Ranma. If he doesn't show up then that's good right? We can go home without a scratch on your body." I said happily.

Ranma: “We are staying here until he shows up even if he's late. I don't want to leave and make him think that I was a coward that didn't show up! Just stay up there until he does. I don't want him to see you."

Me: "Whatever."

Suddenly Kuno appears, "The countryside lies in ruins and yet the mountains and rivers remain as they were. Pride goes before a fall. It shows that all which prospers, must also decline. It is now exactly 5:35 pm. The moment when the sunset here is at it's most beautiful. The rising young star of the fencing world, they call me, I, the Blue Thunder of Furinkan High, has arrived. Welcome, tree-born kettle-girl."

I sweat dropped from the tree, *Oh Brother.*

Ranma:"You don't give up, do you. Hey, what happened to that wooden stick of yours?"

Kuno: "I have no need of things such as that."

Ranma: "Ain't you the confident one!"

"Confident enough to give you this!" Kuno swiftly throws something at Ranma, which she catches. That something was a bouquet of roses. Ranma and I were shocked! I tried not to fall of the tree.

Kuno walks away before he announced what I least expected to Ranma, “Pig-tailed girl, I love you." Ranma was shocked that he didn't know how to react but his body did because his legs gave out.

*Ohhhh no. This isn't good.* I think to myself.

Megumi: Upperclassman Kuno still hasn't figured out that the pigtailed girl is really Ranma. And then I find out that my sister Nabiki interferes by talking to Kuno and making things worse! Geesh Nabiki! How far will you go with you money schemes?!
