THAT AWKWARD MOMENT WHEN THE OTHER GUY STEALS YOUR ROLE. (That awkward moment when it happens twice.)went to see Frankenstein and it was awesome
then realized the hilarity of Jonny Lee Miller being cast as Sherlock in Elementary.

lol, the most obvious thing that crossed over into Elementary was the scarf. I think Frankenstein actually happened after the first season of Sherlock and before Elementary. I did notice a little bit of overlap in random details of Elementary when it first started, and I like to think they got to compare notes while working on Frankenstein. And I think they both do a wonderful job as Sherlock and I wouldn't change either of the shows for anything. Except maybe for a hilarious crossover.

BBC Sherlock was not the first adaptation of Sherlock Holmes.
BBC Sherlock was not the first modernized version of Sherlock Holmes.
There are many different ways to interpret a character.
Your hating on a character for blatantly racist and sexist reasons.
A woman and a man can have a "bromance".
Holmes and Watson are not canonically together.
A woman and a man can be friends without becoming Lovers.
A woman and a man can be just as kick ass as two men.
That being said this is good art.

I think Elementary will be interesting. I mean, I was pissed when I heard the announcement, but it simmered down to an open-minded-albeit-skeptical perspective. The relationship between Holmes and Watson is bit different than what's usually set up and, of course, the dynamics have changed with Watson as a woman. Not excited, per se, but interested. Bloop, and why don't people mention Jeremy Brett's Holmes? His was considered the quintessential Holmes for quite a while. Heck, I was in love with him for a bit XD

I have the same reaction towards all of this. My main fear for all of this is that it will devolve into generic american cop show drivel, which it's bound to do. ahhh Jeremy Brett....

Yes, yes, my fear too. I like to think that maybe CBS will do well, just cause I liked some of their shows (BBT, HIMYM), but then I remember that those are all comedies and I've never watched any of their dramas. Blah. Yeah, he was mine too

agreeeeeeeeeeeed. well, Im sort of bored with generic cop dramas, so if this wasn't a take on Sherlock Holmes I probably wouldn't feel inclined to even watch it

If i do end up watching it, I think i'll try my best to convince myself that their names are Sherlock and Joan by pure coincidence and that they are not supposed to be OUR Holmes and Watson.

Horrible! tThat is all I have to say! Your picture is awesome, but the show... its just insulting. The gentleman cast as Sherlock... just doesn't capture the essance of the detective, the complete lack of a brooding nature, eyes that would bore into your soul. As for Watson.... I can accept throwing a woman into the role.... (barely!) but an Asian? I have nothing against woman or Asian women for that matter, but its the bomantic relationship the two share that make them such a kick ass duo. I am now done ranting (barely).

i saw the Elementary trailer too... and it was a bit disappointing, but hey just my opinion... xD!
well, as Cumberbatch says, if there are two Sherlock Holmes (Warner and BBC) why not there will be a third? (though i think that's too much, and apart from that, Benedict has left a very high standard xDD

And as much as I like JLM, I cannot get over the sin CBS has commited in the creation of this... blasphamy of a show. This is really funny though.
