Managed to squeeze in a little lined sketch! This a preteen aged Everfree, still young with cub spots, exploring her niche in the world...Currently in her emo stage of life.

Young Everfree was mute and very catlike, not very bothered by the way the other foals treated her. She regarded them with curiousity, and would mewl and chirp at them for communication until she learned how to speak. However, once she started hitting puberty, Evefree began to stress about her place in the world after the incident with Grimes Golden, and hurriedly began trying to "redeem" herself. It was at this age that she learnt her pony form, and she did her best to blend in with the crowd. She tried sports, she tried art classes, she tried to play in an orchestra, but nothing really stuck. Not until she found the son of Thunderlane and Dumbell...Rocky Road . (If you're a longtime watcher, you might remember him from my early days in the fandom. God he needs a revamp.)

He, as well as a few others, were a bit apprehensive about the strange, shy earth pony lingering on the fringes of their group, up until he struck a conversation. Slowly the rest of the group chimed in, and she was accepted when one fact came out: Everfree had acidic spit. She had it since she was just a baby (Sneezes and slobbering could be dangerous, however, so her parents contacted Zecora for a way to make it more neutral.) One display of her "gift" later and she was widely accepted. Although she didn't go to class with any of them, and only could meet up after they were out of school, she adored her friends, going so far as to dye and trim her mess of a mane and tail to be more like them.

Her parents struggled to understand her and her newly evolved mannerisms, how instead of going out to play with the chickens, she'd sit in her room for hours listening to music with her friends, but they did their best to support her. Discord even saw it as a way for their daughter to embrace chaos.

She eventually outgrew the style, and lost contact with the majority of her friends, except for one, lanky daughter of Twilight Sparkle.
