Ugh, my first Xiaolin Showdown picture....well.....it didn't turn out the way I thought it would...There's a lot of stuff I would totally change and edit, and I can name several things that could be better, but, meh. I can do that later.
ANYway, amateurish artistry aside, this is largely an experimentation with photoshop, please feel free to critique, any info on photoshop would help!
I don't own Xiaolin Showdown, but Jack and Chase happen to be tied up in my closet right now. I intend to give them back when I'm done with them.
As for the reason I feel the need to put this picture on DA, well, I was bored, went to a random word generator for inspiration, and got the word "traitor." So, I went with it. There's a colored version, too, but I like the black and white a bit better.

Oh, wow, the mood here is super-intense. You can just feel that sense of betrayal both of them must be feeling at the moment, with a little dash of heartbreak. Absolutely gorgeous.
And what a pleasant surprise for me to find that you can not only write well, you can draw excellently, as well! FTW!

Yes, I can draw! I actually love it as much as I love to write (I'm just not as good at drawing in photoshop!)!
It was really kinda funny having my brother watch over my shoulder as I drew this, coming up with a story for the picture! If you don't mind my asking, do you have any idea of what's going on in the picture, or what led up to this moment between them? I'm alsways curious of what people think of ambiguous art! Thanks again for the compliment!

I dunno the full story, but looking at this, I just get the sense that Chase and Jack were romantic together when something about each other made it a little taboo (probably class rank, or something), and somebody who didn't like it made Jack do something to betray Chase. If not that, then made Chase think Jack betrayed him. Before anybody can explain anything, Chase reacts out of heartbreak and betrays Jack in turn in the above scene. Afterwards, there's probably guilt and the misunderstanding is cleared up, and Chase has to rush to save Jack before something bad happens to him, and then maybe a tearful makeup scene and a smoochy conclusion.
I don't know, it's probably the writer in me, but from this one scene and the teensy bit of dialogue in your Artist's Comments (and the title!), that's the gist I get.

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked this! Using photoshop is easier than drawing and painting with pencils and brushes in some respects but in others, it's just hard. I checked out your profile and really liked your picture "The Sisters." You have a very good sense of value as well, and the texture of her hair seems to be a point of emphasis when I look at it. And the hair is so beautifully detailed. Good job.
