This is another work using a quote, this time by Steve Vai; 'God gave the gift of artists so that people can dream while they are awake' To me, it is a particularly meaningful quote, being a dreamer myself. I used a laser cutter on a CAD/CAM system (based on Corel Draw) to cut this out, but the wood was prepared and finished my hand. The lazer cutter usage may mean this section isnt appropriate for it, if it isnt, lt me know and i will move it. THe design was handdrawn, then scanned and outlined in Illustrator, then into Corel Draw for 'printing'edit - better pic, less grainy and a better angle

well, i used a laser cutter, which is obviously a lot faster than cutting it by hand. took a couple of hours to biscuit joint the planks into one big sheet and sand smooth, and then the actual cutting took over an hour cos it had to go pretty slow to get the depth. then took more time cos it hadnt 'quite' cut all the way thru so i had to finish it off by hand. but way faster than a totally traditional carving. but thanks, im really glad u like it!

While the message is nice, I'd think that "God gave the gift of Music, so that people can dream while they are awake" would be more appropriate since the shape is of a guitar...?

Steve Vai is an amazing guitarist and it's the shape of a guitar, hence that quote was used.

This is really wonderful - the quote as well as the woodworking. Such detail with the letters! Wonderful job with this...honestly, if I tried, I'd accidentally cut myself as soon as I touched whatever sharp utensils you have to use to make this....
