Description
I know eyes are meeting mine,and they look at me so straight.
I fear that they will see me,
if they really concentrate.
I turn my glance unwilling,
talking through a sided voice.
I hope they didn't notice;
but I feel there is no choice.
They're waiting for an answer,
to questions that shouldn't phase.
I can respond in surface,
only through a certain daze.
I hear the conversation,
it starts ringing in my ears.
Flippantly, I follow on,
stealing moments from my fears.
But, I cannot stop this train,
it's circling in my mind;
running on my fuels of thought,
and flawed with old design.
If I could just forget this,
and thrive within the unknown,
I know I could be happy;
but—my thoughts are not alone.

You can tell when someone writes from their own experience and from the heart. I can relate to what you say here, and can even say I was once a prisoner of it. I can tell you that you can indeed thrive in the unknown, but there is a journey you must take first.
Your phrases flow well. Some poems are very visual, flowing rapidly like a creek giggling over rocks. My Autistic mind does best with visual poems, so it says something that this flowed so well for me.
I did need to read it a few times and ponder on it a moment, which is a good thing, a poem catching your attention enough to make you want to do that.
Very well done.
