Description
The boy being a CK model for me =] I love him, I do.Property of ME! ...and I'm not just talking about the photos here ;]
& I know it's blurry, so please don't point that out; he's not used to sitting still and the lighting sucked monkey balls.

I would recommend flash, however, angle towards the ceiling and bounce it off. Or take a piece of white paper, tape it over the flash's bulb area on both edges and use that to diffuse the light. Alot of photographers forget sometimes that diffused light works better, and indoor shots involving the necessisity of details benefit from diffusion. You might also want to consider using something like Adobe Photoshop to get rid of the yellow tint from the ambient lighting. It throws the color off somewhat in my opinion.

Oh, thanks for the tip on diffusing the light. I read somewhere something about shooting upside down to diffuse the flash, but haven't been able to give it a shot yet. And I just got Photoshop, so I'll keep that in mind. Thanks =]

No prob. I do Wedding photography as a sideline and part of it is portraiture. You learn quick how to manipulate the light to some form of advantage. Otherwise the ambient lighting sucks. BAD.

Lucky you are.
And I wouldn't worry so much about the fuzziness....it gives it a bit of a glow.

I'd like to think I'm lucky ;]
A lot of my photos of people have that glow, or dreamy affect to them [mostly because I hate using the flash, it washes everyone out].
Thanks for the comment =]
