this photo...its gorgeous. it really gives it a sense
of kinda being...i dunno, makes it more dirtyed up
or something...makes it more real.

i really want to say something memorable about this peice, about how much i like it and how much the stance speaks volumes of your athetic experience; how it makes me want to know what type of athetic hobbies you get into and why and how they change your life ::breathes in:: buuut.... i am reduced to drooling like a pining highschooler because, afterall, you are just cut like a thanksgiving turkey.
i'd say that i'd hate to meet you in a dark ally, but i would be lying. :eers around:: so i only hope faving it can speak volumes that i just can't... what with the slackjaw and everything.

Capoeira is awesome. I'm not very good at it, and I'm out of practice because I've been focusing on my piano and photography in the past few months!

Hahahah thank you so much babe
Muay Thai is tight... I was told that Ong Bak isn't the most accurate Muay Thai, but then it's not like any of the Kung Fu movies you see reflect the true forms. I think Tony Jaa does an awesome job w/ that movie, even though he isn't a great actor.

I have no idea about muay thai really... so i'd either discern what i hear about it or believe them lol. was it a muay thai artist who told u that themself? how its not accurate? coz i was readin an interview with Tony Jaa and he said he also used an older form of muay thai... so maybe thats why the person said it wasnt accurate.... hmm.. u can check out the interview here...
"TJ: Yes and Muay means boxing. In the film I also use Muay Thai Boran which means ancient Thai boxing. There are three types of Muay Thai but they all evolved from Muay Thai Boran. Muay Thai Boran is an art thatβs beautiful and dangerous but also teaches you humility as well. It was an art that was practiced during wartimes."

I'm not sure about givin him points for acting, but then again its an ACTION movie lol, and really he seems so dorky even if its hardcore action.. probably b/c of his looks and not to mention the language sounded so funny

Once again, awesome use of light and shadow here, although this shot seems a tad too grainy to me.
Nice work though!

Thanks for the feedback! Actually, I added grain in this photo, as I do in many of my black and white photos... grain doesn't bother me. I feel that it can add to the authenticity of a digital B&W photo.

do you do martial arts?

dchui In reply to AlviNem [2005-02-20 12:24:29 +0000 UTC]
Thank you for the feedback Alvin! I have done martial arts, but I have only dabbled in Capoeira. I also did varsity wrestling for three years in high-school.
Primarily, my background is as a gymnast. Even then, I haven\'t had the opportunity to really hone any physical discipline. Right now I\'m inspired by the movie Ong-Bak Thai Warrior to bulk up, get in better shape, and learn how to jump over cars.
