Description I didn't upload this because I thought it was good. I uploaded it because I thought it sucked. Sorta. I think I'm just stuck.

I'm anxious to give spriting a second try, but I haven't decided how large or detailed I want to attempt to make them. I don't want to get carried away, obviously, or I'll never even finish animating a single character.

This is a concept for a few basic sprite poses. If anyone has input on a plausible size for putting this into pixels, or any comments about her awkwardly sized/shaped head, feel free to share.

Also, is it just me, or does she look 12? Dammit.

I like it man, I can tell you have a background with weapons there is a weight you put into the image and the pose is fluid. You have some nice lines and good detail. I am feeling this a lot.

The only Kriss I've ever held was chained to a table at a gun show, unfortunately. I was kind of surprised how much it weighed, even empty. It just looks space-age and plasticish. Not relevant at all to what you said, but still...

Thanks for the input. I wish the feel of it had transplanted itself into the sprite a little better.

Word the Kriss is heavy? I would have thought it was light and future is nowish...but you can't beat a SMG in .45ACP though. Fuck that pussy 9mm shit.

It's not heavy, I just expected it to be really light for some reason. When you cram a hi-capacity mag of .45 in there, I'm sure it's no feather.

nice modern standing position, though if she's not wearing armour i'd stick her in a traditional bladed stance for accuracy. (maybe I look into these things too much, blame the army!).

The Kriss is by far my favourite modern SMG, too.

Thanks. This is the kind of comment I live for, haha.

You have a really valid point about the stance, that's something I hadn't even considered. It's actually pretty similar to how I wound up shooting, my body finding an unnatural goofy balance between my pre-Army experience, and all that nonsense they drive into your head about being square with the target when you're wearing armor. (Personally, I'd rather be able to actually hit the guy, rather than catch bullets in my front plate.) Having shot that way for years, I don't think I'll ever fully recover...even when I'm just plinking in someone's backyard with a .22.

I'll slap some body armor on these guys eventually, but now that I look at it, it is a bit goofy. I might square up the legs on the actual sprite, so it's a little more natural. I'd also worry that putting her, in particular, into a more bladed stance would make her look...well...girly. I want her to look aggressive, a gunfighter to take seriously. (I think I failed in these two sketches, but still...haha.)

Welp, directed me here; I think I'm quite good at spriting, so...
[link] I learnt from this guide, it's Pokemon-orientated but the scratch techniques can be used on most things x3 It's useful, really.

As for animating, I guess you just make one and then edit whatever's going to be animated? Not so sure about that, I'm afraid...

Sorry if I'm not much help x3

Hey, no, that's definitely helpful. Some of the stuff from that guide seems pretty useful. Thanks! Now...if only I could stop playing SWTOR long enough to give this a shot...

About 15 years too young. Ah, well, it was just practice.

Its verry hard to sprite this i think. You can try it yourself. Just make some bases and then color them... I can try too but i don't know how big you want.

That's where I'm stuck. I haven't figured out the size I'll be working with yet. I found a pretty neat tutorial, once I get that straightened out.

I really like it. Pft you should see me draw. Stick figures all the way. I don't know much about spriting, but I'll try and find someone that does.

Thanks. I should have stuck with stick figures. I kinda got carried away with this, it was supposed to take 10 minutes or so, and I wound up spending 2 hoursish on it. Which is retarded, because none of the detail will be visible if I do sprite over it.

If you do know anyone, that'd be great. I'm trying to find an pixel animation mentor of sorts, I guess.

I'm looking for a mentor for you. What do you need them fore? Pixel animation? Or spriting?

I'm not sure? Are they the same thing? Anyone who knows how to animate, I guess. Thanks!
