Request for !!!She wanted a pic of 004 going into battle. I had it drawn for a while, but I just keep fiddling with it in photoshop. The lines were not as simple as just 'put lines around it'
I think I am happy now, the background works with the marker figure.

Oh yes, one quick question. Did you save the screen tone pack to Brushes, or something else? I'm not sure what category they would fall under, so I'm not sure what file to put them in for Gimp. (they also may not work for Gimp, but I did get a grass brush pack for photoshop to work in Gimp)

oh that pack. Ummmmm, it is just a file of jpgs, so I saved it to a project folder (how I group my files nothing program specific) and I opened them and placed it in my art document as a separate layer.
Does GIMP have layers???

Yeah, you click on the download button, and it downloads a zip file. Your computer should automatically unzip it, and it's a folder of jpgs.

I love playing with dramatic lighting (I guess that's pretty evident) and just trying different ways to express it. I could do more with the background, but, I was just getting frustrated with this piece and found a good point to stop. I will try a backlit piece like this again. It's a good challenge.
