Description
Get in touch with that sundown fellowAs he tiptoes across the sand
He's got a million kinds of stardust
Pick your fav'rite brand, and
Dream, when you're feeling blue
Dream, that's the thing to do
Just watch the smoke rings rise in the air
You'll find your share of memories there
So dream when the day is through
Dream, and they might come true
Things never are as bad as they seem
So dream, dream, dream
Dream when the day is through
Dream, and they might come true
Things never are as bad as they seem
So dream, dream, dream
Dream
So dream, dream, dream..

Ella Fitzgerald - Dream(When You're Feeling Blue)
Sort of fits my mood at the moment. I should be sleeping. It's almost 3am. Everything just kinda hurts and I feel all alone.
It is days like this where I actually miss the rain..

Wow! I went to bed around 5:30 am not expecting anything extravagant for the next day but I woke up to this "nothing short of amazing" render around 8:30 am. I'm still extremly groggy but I am very motivated to paint something... paint what you ask. I don't know yet but I know that it won't have the same emotional impact as that poor girl in the painting nor the woman that painted her. Do me a favor if you can... please paint her in a nice warm room with a fireplace so she doesn't catch a cold.

Well, she's all snuggled up now with a soft robe, a blanket so I think she'll be okay.
Thanks so much for the wonderful words. If I can inspire just one person, I'll have been successful!

Did you use any reference for the lightning?
You're welcome

No - I might do a quick tutorial if I have the time on the lighting. Basically, in a nutshell, I decide from the beginning where I want the light to be, in what direction. With this image it's behind her and of the left. Then, I just follow the prominent parts, outlining the body and softly erasing where it's too much. Just enough to "highlight".
Think of it in life -- if the sun shines upon a tree a certain direction, where would the shadow be, and where would the rays hit. I always try to imagine "that" tree when I paint

I always try to do it that way, too, but I never seem to get the effect right so that it's kind of foggy and slightly shining!
