Description
There is within me a damaged child who longs to cry, only she is not sure how.This is a VERY personal piece. Done specifically for therapy as my therapist requested me to think about the word SHAME and how I represent it in my mind. What do I see. The image itself is reflective of a lot of things in my life, some of which I've hidden from people since I was a child.
The path to recovery is about facing demons. I understand that now. And while it is hard, I know it can only make us stronger. It isn't about putting those thoughts and feelings away, hiding them - it is about facing them head on, accepting them and living with them for the rest of your life in a manner you can.
