Description
In Flanders fields the poppies blowBetween the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
— Lt.-Col. John McCrae

This is great and very fitting tribute to all that have fallen in the field fighting for peace and equality of all men. Until the day that we can all sit and speak as brothers and not enemies there will be war and their will be the fallen solider that gives his life in sacrifice for that freedom. This picture along with the poem stirred great emotion in me! Thanks! Never Forget!

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
- Laurence Binyon
I don't know if you've heard that before, but it's the Ode from 'For the Fallen', and associated heavily over here with commemoration, especially of the ANZACS. Being of British stock, I thought you might know it too.
