Description
I had this idea in mind for a while now. Today I decided to give it a try. I'm fascinated with Pagan and Druid beliefs - it fits more of my personality than any other "religion" out there as I'm incredibly intune with nature.Anyhow, digital painted in Corel Paint, then finished in Photoshop as well as a few items of stock that have been used.

Have you ever read the book "Poison" ? It starts out as a normal LOTR-type story, but has an interesting twist at the end. The main character Foxglove, who names herself poison, lives in a swamp, so they all have to walk on these wooden bridges. This Picture is a perfect image of that book!!! I was totally shocked!

This is such a lovely image! It feels like a whole, complete scene rather than the ones with the hazy faded backgrounds, and the lighting is so misty and perfect.
There's so much detail here, but just enough of the haze to make it seem dream-like without being too obscured.
I can't help but feel her dress needs a little more movement in it, or that the bridge seems too crisp, but it's not enough to make me dislike the piece. I never saw the version with the birds, but I think it doesn't need them anyway!
I love it! And that's a high compliment coming from me because I'm not normally a fan of the 'girls in dresses with the windswept' hair type images, especially photomanips.
I could rant so much about how this image makes me feel, or what it reminds me of, but I'm just going to fave it and let you know how much I really like it.

It is a rather -cliche- image and the kind I usually TRY to stay clear of. However, this one was in my mind and simply had to be created and made. Thank you so much for your comment. I'm truly glad you like it.

Its a beautiful piece, but speaking from a technical point of view the bird inconsistent. They seem to be some kind of hawk or bird that rides on the air, not the kind you would find under the canopy. And as hazy as the distance is you certainly wouldn't be able to see them as clearly as they are depicted. I'm a little disappointed actually. Usually your work is so much cleaner.

It is my mistake, I was rushing to get the piece finished before I left for work, when I should have just waited until I got home. I will be fixing it. I've had so much on my mind, I really let things get to me while doing this piece.

After I posted my original comment I was worried that I might have hurt your feelings. I tried to be constructive without being harsh while at the same time pushing you back to your usual standard of excellence. I'm glad you didn't take it personally. I'm picky about who I add to my fav's so when I see a piece that is not up to par I tend to call them out.
I like your redo, but I think you had the right idea the first time by placing something else in the picture around your character. The birds didn't work but there does seem to be something missing. Does it look that way to you?

It does look that way, but I'm really not sure what to put there as I don't want anything to detract from her as she is the central, focal point. It could be because I have the trees blurred, that it calls to having a need for something there, I'm not sure.
But again, thank you for your crits - they are appreciated and warranted. I strive to improve and cannot do so, unless things are pointed out to me of which I may not see!
