Description
Hi there!Yet another "against-the-light" matte painting.
I want to show off a post apocalyptic destroyed cityscape, maybe after a war.
It's done with Photoshop CS and After Effects.
I kept the buildings in several layers and added fog in between.
Finally I rendered a camera pullback in After Effects with a previous version of the matte.
Please use "save target as ...", since I haven't optimised the clips for streaming:
PC - WMV-File, WM Version 8 Codec (3.4 MB): [link]
MAC - Quicktime, Sorenson Codec (9.8 MB): [link]
For those who are interested in having a look at the initial sketch: [link]
Thanks hoon, for helping me out with the final color correction
Cheers, Daniel

i see that you have decided to flip it horizontally yah i think it looks better like this, it gives it a different kind of perspective from all your other ones.

I honestly think this is your finest work so far. The level of detail, or at least the impression of detail, is great. The sky is almost photorealistic and the whole scene is all-too-believable! The few lights or fires in the foreground suggest at least a few survivors, which is a nice touch. I could look at this for hours.

Wow, another awesome creation. The camera pullback is just great and a good--and to some extent original--idea.
Keep up this awesome work.

wow! Excellent work! though, it would be better if it had something particular to focalise the attention of the viewer... it looks like a bakground, actually.
