I linked you to a friend of mine, a very talented woman who has what I consider to be impeccable integrity and taste when it comes to art, and she agrees with me that you have an incredible eye. She's much harder to please than I am, but she said that your infrared work in particular is well above the normal standard for that kind of photography and that your work in general is also quite good.

I was kind of cute, really... I said "He does infrared photography, it's incredible" and she said "Yeah, that's really in right now, I've seen a lot of pink trees". And about five minutes later she texted me back "Wow. He really IS good."
She said one time that photography is kind of the perfect "everyman's art" because anyone can do it, and about 50% of the people who do it can do it well, in the sense that the pictures are at least pleasing to the eye. But there is a little something beyond just taking a picture - and it's not in a dark room, or a photoshop window... You can't buy it and you can't fake it and you can't doctor it in. And it very much has to do with how the photographer sees things in the first place.
Maybe this is why some people can take incredible pictures of their kids, but cut everyone else's heads off. Or I have a friend who takes amazing photos of flowers (she's a passionate gardener), but her other pictures are just... pictures. I can capture a cat with a camera, because I have a kind of hunger to document cat-ness. But when I take pictures of anything else, they come out very average. Nature photography, to me, is one of the most subtle of art forms. Anyone can take a picture of a tree, but to do it so I can see it and almost know what it was like to be there... that's very different.
But... I can talk about art, and vision, and trees all day long.
