This is a great image! Your composition is just about perfect and your timing when you pressed the shutter release was perfect.
I like the very shallow depth of field in this image. The background works really well, it isnβt featureless, but the few details that are there do not distract from the main subject and the tonality really works nicely with the rest of the elements in the image.. Not only is the background thrown out of focus, but so is most of the foreground, but your done it is such a way that it does not distract from the image of the young robin. The lighting is nice and flat, so the colours inside of the mouth work really well. The throat feathers and head feathers stand out nicely against the background too.

Amazing! It's cool how we can see the feathers just starting to grow in -- quill by quill? The eye barely appears as if there is any life inside it -- are they blind at this stage?
