I did a story on US1 - Key West, Florida to Fort Kent, Maine. Two months on the road. This was one of my favorite stops along the way.
Nice capture...

Beautiful. The day I photographed the Headlight it was gray & drizzly. The sun adds a lot.
Have you been to Two Lights @ Cape Elizabeth?

If you go further up the coast, there are many awesome lighthouses, some in even better settings (if I remember that right).
Thanks,
Ingo

you requested a critic,
here i come:
i like the light in this scene, you found the right moment to take this scene. but you did not frame it very well.
too less space above the lighthouse too much beneath. the rocks in the bottom right disturb the framing even more.
for a fabulous landscape scenery a wide angle or better a greater distance to the object would give me a better feeling of the sea's wideness.
hope my language is understandable. best regards

was this pic edited some how? would love to know about it, camera, filters, photoshop or not,etc.......
the balance between movement an stillness is what keeps the eye going.....there is a little red speckle on the right about the big rock that is distracting

IngoSchobert In reply to desdentado [2010-07-30 15:28:34 +0000 UTC]
The basic camera data is with the post, otherwise:
I used a 1.8 ND filter to get the long exposure that makes the move/still effect
I use photoshop to sharpen, level, saturate, the usual enhancement stuff
I see the red speckle too, I checked the full size shot, it is either a bird or a lobster trap buoy, hard to tell. But you sure have a keen eye

Wow thats really beautiful! I love the composition. The way the sky looks soft, and the rocks & water look forboding. With the lighthouse standing tall and bright.
