Description
Just like Narcissus - this water drop cannot help itself from staring at its own reflection, just to collide with it and cause its destruction.Beauty is temporary, character forever! And vanity kills!
This is a macro photograph of a water drop just before it hits the surface of a container filled with water, hence the reflection.
WOW, DAILY DEVIATION - this is fantastic! I am so happy that a work like this one finds appreciation in the DA community. Thank you so much to for suggesting this piece for a DD and thanks a lot to for featuring it!!!

very simplistic but very beautiful sometimes less is more and you seem to have achieved that i would like to see more work like this and quite frankly there is not anyway near enough
what i love about about your picture is it show that to be perfect things must be imperfect i think it is purely just:
-the bliss of the moment
-the purity of the water
-the innocence of the droplet of water

This makes me feel really relaxed, too. It's really simple, but still so enjoyable to look at. It's just a really pleasing piece.

this might be me sounding incredibly clueless, but if the shutter speed is 1/5 of a second, how did it not come out blurry?

That' because the room is dark and the flash fires for 1/200s only. Makes sense?
Not a stupid question!

So unlike me (being way too complex)
Thanks Paula

I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this. It's just not your average picture of a water drop. I love it!

This had a very big impact on me. I was wondering how this could represent the vanity of Narcisus when I read you're explanation. Very beautiful.
