I started this little drawing last week, actually it was supposed to be my Tolkien valentines drawing, as is tradition, but I didn't feel like finishing until last night. I also held a little poll on instagram (if you don't already follow me there, what are you waiting for? I post a HELLA lot more art and all my sketches there, as well as updates on my life and hold polls etc! Username same as here!!) and they decided that I should do it in watercolours, so that's why I drew this very simplistic line art instead of shading. (I also had a poll asking whether I should redraw my Thingol and Melian drawing or my Feanor and Finwe drawing, so if you wanna get in on the action head on over )

Now, the idea:
So, while planning this drawing, it came to me that because they are frozen in time for so many years, it is rather reasonable to assume that the forest grows in around them, kind of like forgotten statues. That inspired me to look on greek statues, hence the clothes, and the add the vines growing on them, as well as the "overgrown" feeling of the frame. I am quite happy with the effect, and I cant wait to colour it. I May hold a poll for what colour palette to use, so keep an eye out on my instagram to have a say!^^

Also, Im sorry, but I really have outgrown Deviant art in general. It doesnt do much in the sense of exposure or exploring for new art. It is discriminating, almost only featuring the same artists over and over (if not only nudes) and I am honestly sick of it. I use deviant mainly because I know a lot of you awesome people are here, and as an online portfolio where I post just my finished art, like it always has been.
