Description
just thought I'd work on some more concept art for my post apocalyptic faction, the Cavaliers.lore wise, I figured their origin would be of a group of raiders who whilst pillaging the Burroughs, would find in the ruins of Buckingham palace, pictures of royalty, old ragged household guard uniforms, and ceremonial weapons and armour. these raider gangs would become obsessed with the old dynasty and try to emulate it, wearing the salvaged parts of ceremonial garb and having their gang leaders claim to be the true successor to the throne. they would form into several different gangs based on the household regiments, the Bearskins,
the Busby's, the Warders, the blues and the Dragoons.
these gangs would fight each other over who was rightfully king, it was soon decided that whoever found the crown jewels, that was lost after the war, would officially be recognised as the rightful king, his clan would become the royal house and the other gangs would become other noble houses in service to the king.
the Cavaliers, considering themselves honourable and brave like the knights of old, use crude armoured vehicles known as Landships,as well as peddle bikes and stokers to wage war for honour and glory.
here we have a nobleman of the Bearskins and his Landship crew, who are usually just personal servants of his who help to run the Landship, he wears an old ceremonial headdress along with the standard salvaged armour most common among warriors in the Blight, he wears red, and is expertly trained in close quarters battle with a sabre, beyond the confines of a Landship, cavalier nobles scoff at the idea of ranged combat, seeing it as a dishonourable manner of combat befitting common folk, they prefer hand to hand combat and to die in such a way is considered the greatest of honours, believing that after death in courageous battle, they will join the Cort of their dead ancestors who will smile upon them.
in regards to the Landships crew I had them wear less outstanding dress more attributed to commoners of which they are, my inspiration being the old facemasks of ww1 that were used by early tank crewmen to prevent shrapnel.
all in all this concept for the opposing faction to the Diggers is coming along well
