Description My first commission ever! My animation teacher requested a cake topper for his 3-year-old daughter's birtday, who loves robots and the color purple. What an awesome kid.

This is favorite sculpt up to date. I have never made a cake topper before this one, nor have I sculpted anything quite this big. Boop measures 5 in. tall, 4 in. long from arm-to-arm, 3 in. wide at the base, and 1.5 in. wide at the head. Boop consists of sculpey, an eyehook, screws, nails, a bolt, a spinning gear, a plastic bead, and a minor amount of glaze. I may have been inspired by Ironman when I made the chestpiece >.> The sculpture looks a little tippy, but it actually stands very firm.

It was definitely worth staying up till 2 in the morning to make a little girl smile. I'm a little late in saying this, but Happy Birthday adorable small person!

Wow! This must be one of my favorites of yours yet X3 It's so cool, the way you added all those screws to make Boop authentic! And you know what, that girl's going to keep that little robot forever and ever ;D

I love how smooth everything is. Minimal signs of forced shaping, stretching, or blending~

D'awww, thank you. >w< I always love getting your comments on my art. It's like an extra ray of sunshine in my day~ <3

While working on this sculpt I learned that refrigerating the parts before doing details maintains the shape and prevents excess fingerprints. It's only when the clay gets warm and soft again that it becomes difficult to work with. I had an incident with that when I tried to create freckle screws. |D In trying to remove the screws some part of the face got pockmarked and squished-looking. But I like it regardless.

Aww, really? X3

You learn something every day! I hope this makes your future sculptures somehow even BETTER.

Ya rly, you wonderful person. <3

I hope so. |D I haven't sculpted in a while though. School and after-school tutoring tends to suck away free time for such artistic pursuits. >.<

Thanks. And I don't remember the exact name of the figure, but it's a smaller WALL-E figure with switchable magnetic arm and head pieces.

I think I bought it on my trip to Disneyland, so that might be the reason why.
