Description
Front of my little model shop. A book shop. Of course. I struggled with the lighting, photographing and tweaking of the shot. If anyone has any tips on this I'd be very keen to hear them.ΒRelated content

The books are real, they all have pages and a cover...its not a full inside though as the back is permanently fixed. It was initially designed as part of a background for a museum exhibit. You can see a little of the inside here on the "work in progress shots"Β ink-and-think.deviantart.com/aβ¦ ink-and-think.deviantart.com/aβ¦ Β Its my first architectural model so it was very much a learning curve. I would do many things differently next time. The lighting definitely I would put more thought into next time round.Β

woah! That's a LOT of books, how many hours did you use on them? O: I used like a weekend on this thingΒ [link] Β
I know what you mean about the curve, this is the first model I madeΒ [another link] Β and the lightning is horrible x) not to mention that the parts had to be forced together at several places since I hadn't been accurate enough when I measured the pieces Β

I really have no idea. The whole project took months in between doing other things. Yeh accuracy is a sod...i'm more of a do it by eye person. This was the first thing I really took time to measure and there was a few whiskery millimetres I must have been out by that later turned into problems in the brick work. In all honesty its still not really finished but I don't have the time to do more on it.Β

On my new project I'm trying to be really accurate. But the pieces are still skewed and crooked :I When I'm not trying to be accurate then I don't mind, but when I'm really trying and it's still not right I feel that something somewhere doesn't like me :IΒ
so about a month on all the books? You sure have patience, even though I love details I would probably think out a way to sneak away from creating 1000 books.Β

Yeh I'd fake a lot of them next time. In retrospect a lot of them could have been just cardboard as you only see the spines. Planning is key I think!Β
