I’m putting myself up to task and seeing if I can get something started.It’s becoming more and more obvious that WiR 2 will be a massive departure from the first movie not just in tone but in character development, theme and over all story-structure, many of which has rendered many characters into placeholders that are only being used to remind the audience that they exist and that yes, this is Wreck-it-Ralph.
For that, I came up with an idea and this is going out to all fans of the first movie and fans of characters who are being sidelined.
If Disney is going to hit hard with this whole ‘WE UNDERSTAND THE INTERNET THING!!11′ and other social media, why don’t we show them that fans of the characters who have been left out still exist and we still love the characters and were hoping to see them continue on the path of development that was shown at the end of the film.
Ladies and gents, this is #LoveforLitwaks
#LoveforLitwaks is a tag that I want dedicated to showcase the WiR fandom’s love for the arcade and the Litwak citizens aside from Vanellope and Ralph.
Felix and Calhoun, the slew of other racers in Sugar Rush, the Nicelanders, Surge, the other Bad Anons, ect.
If you make art of the other WiR characters, feel free to use this tag to add to the collection and hopefully show Disney that Wreck-it-Ralph doesn’t stand on Ralph and Vanellope alone. There are far more characters that could have engaged in the online adventure, so many more things that could have been done with these great characters to show just how connected Litwak is not just as an arcade, but as a home for these guys, all the while expanding that home online.
This is a tag to remind everyone that Felix is a hero, that Calhoun deserves her day in the sun, that the racers are more than fodder for Vanellope to beat constantly, that the Nicelanders can be used as decent characters, that Turbo and his King Candy guise lead to a charismatic baddie, that so much can happen in Litwak’s both connected or not.
Use #LoveforLitwaks to show your love for Wreck-it-Ralph and to show Disney that fans of the other characters are still here, that we still love the movie but we’re waiting to see when the adventure will actually involve EVERYONE, not just Ralph and Vanellope.Related content

I totally agree!! I honestly haven't been keeping up enough with this to know about much beyond the first two trailers (I know, shame on me 
I also really like how you see the arcade being this big family place where everyone's lives are close-knit. I like to imagine it that way too.

Trust me when I saw that even from the two trailers you did see, you missed very little and what you see is what you get. It's that bad.
And as for Felix and Calhoun, they're regulated to being the basic tie for the second movie to remind us that they exist and that this is a WiR movie. Other than that, they don't even do anything. The racers just EXIST to remind us that Vanellope is 'the best racer in the arcade' do very little aside trash Felix's apartment and that's it...There is no family or community sense in the movie and the bad part about that it only seems to be happening because Ralph and Vanellope aren't the driving force behind that feeling.
The whole movie more or less WRECKS (bad dum TISH) everything set up from the first movie. Every rule, every cool concept, everything that made WiR unique in how it's world is set up is trashed and why? Just to give Vanellope what she wants in the end. THAT'S the only reason all of this happens; to give Vanellope what she wants because she's bored. All the thing that Tubor and Ralph were bashed for in the first? Totes okay for Vanellope to do it!
My thoughts have always been the new writers just don't like or know anything about games and thought that it would be easier to base everything about online culture but even with that, they picked the most basic things to talk about and already people are pointing out how out of touch it is. And the Disney Princess invading the story and replacing spots that could have been used by OG WiR characters is another problem. It's just not a fun movie. =\

Let's be honest. If a tv series was made based on movies, it will take away every element of the movie that you loved. You thne grow to dislike it and question why you would even watch.
It also makes several of the episodes non-canon along with the personality of the characters.

The second movie has already done a good job in doing all of this, right down to making so many things non-canon and messing with the personalities of the characters.

But others have yet to be fleshed out.

They made it clear they don't care about any of the other OG characters and Taffyta is the only racer who gets 'fleshed out' by means of Vanellope humiliating her constantly despite them making up in the last movie.
For the rest of the film, the racers are just brain dead kids who mess up Felix and Calhoun's apartment, who are stuck back in the arcade babysitting.
This is how they're treating the other WiR characters.

It depends on the story. Yes, there are some shitty fanfics but as I said, there are some legit good ones.
This feels like a bad fic given how much it goes back on the original movie in order to allow Vanellope to have her way in the end which....doesn't really make sense and sort of downplays the world that was set up. That's sort of what bad fics do; get rid of the needed glue/rules that hold the series together only to deliver a very weak payoff in the end.
And I feel that the people on the writing team don't care about fic writers so in the end, there was no big impact. If they did, you'd think they'd involve more of the other WiR characters in the internet adventure but....yeah. What we're getting is what we're getting.

I really wish they developed the racers more. While I am very happy that they're with Felix and Calhoun, I think they deserve to show out their character and personalities more. They deserve their own voice actors dang it!... But that's just me.

Same here, especially once you consider they more or less RIPPED whatever development that was peeking through at the end of the movie for a bunch of badly done and cheap jokes, mostly done to remind people that they still exist. If you cut the whole racer/Felix and Calhoun parts out of the movie, they have NOTHING to do with the plot which sort of shows what the story writers thought of them as far as contribution comes.
