Description
A small light brown Leatherwing has not found food in days, and in its desperate attempt to find some morsel of food it has traveled quite far. Little does it know it has scurried into the territory of a lime green Thicktongue Pike.ΒThe Pike flashes its wings at the Leatherwing, hoping to scare it off with its eye shaped patterns. The Leatherwing does not flee, but steps back a bit, and guards itself. The Pike flashes its open mouth, showing its bright purple tongue, coated with thick and corrosive saliva, and one long, curved tooth, ready to inject venom that will quickly break down the Leatherwings flesh while it is alive. The Leatherwing scurries up a tree, and flies away. The Pike hisses and snaps its jaws a few times at the Leatherwing furiously flapping its wings as it flies off into the sky. Satisfied, the Pike turns around and walks away.
Fun Facts:
Similar to some butterflies and moths, the Thicktongue Pike has eye patterns on its wings to scare off predators and unwanted pests.
The Thicktongue Pike is unable of flight, but its vestigial wings are used for display.
The Leatherwing fits into a similar niche as squirrels/pigeons, they eat whatever they can find on the forest floor, usually nuts and pinecones
These dragons live in a dense spruce forest with many waterfalls, rivers, cliffs, and hills.
