The protagonist of this comics, Jan is a listless soldiers who sometimes dozing while on duty, especially while doing his duty while guarding the country's borders as well on sentry duty, much to annoyance of his officers except of his friends, Hugo. He is apathetic, and hardly ever outwardly expresses how he feels. When he does, it's normally done in an apathetic-seeming manner as well and thus makes it seem like he's mature at best and emotionless and uncaring at worst.
