Description Between the Kenzer contract and HTF there hasn't been much "me" time, so here's a little more old work from the archives.

This is a shot of the Adamantine Guardian, created in December of 2001 For Thunderhead/Mystic Eye Games Bluffside - City on the Edge. It's a mechanical golem-type of creature, and I was given free reign on this design, so I think my anime videogame influences probably came in a bit heavy.

I like the overall results, though, espescially the sword. It's not a particularly realistic character design, unless we make some wide assumptions about his composition, but this predates my current obsession with functionality.

For that, I used this old thing I used to be into back in the day, we called it "ink on bristol board".

That piece predates my digital conversion by about five years. Back then, I was all 'bout stains on thin-pressed strips of dead tree.

You can either drop the address into your post, in which case DA just makes a link for you, like so:

[link]

Or, you can make hotlink text , like so .

In which case, you use the old html script:

{a href="http://http address here, use the quotes"}text for the link{/a}

(replace {} with <>, so {/a} becomes , hopefully I haven't just written gibberish)

Try it!

Geez, how deep is that sword jabbed into the ground? It looks darn near halfway embedded in the ground since there's no present curvature of the blade. I like the design, but with arms that long he'd definitely be top-heavy. Oh well, it's art, who says it has to be realistic? I like it!

I LOVE the exaggerated proportions... and the subtle pose and expression that just screams strength... sure, it might not be functional as you look more, but design wise it is dead-on, so that makes it feel functional.

pretty awesome look. the legs are a weak point i think, but the arms, head, and especially neck make up for any short comings.
