All I did was request these from ShadowOfSolace and added the descriptions. So please, if you're going to use these, credit Shadow for them, not me.
Admit it. Ever since the first two seasons of Digimon you’ve wanted to create your own Crest(s). I know I certainly have, and thus, this meme was born! First off, a big shout-out to ShadowOfSolace who is the actual creator of this template. All I did was come up with the idea. Second, for you Digital War people, this isn’t a “Create a Crest for Your OC” meme, so you can make more than one, but if you want to make one for your tamer, feel free to use this!
I had some trouble coming up with some decent ideas for Crests at first, and I’m sure some of you will too. So I’m going to help you out by listing some of the observations I have made while doing some research. Don’t think of them as rules, but as helpful tips and guidelines.
Now, when creating a Crest, there are two things you need to focus on: Design and Virtue.
Design
Designing your Crest is probably the most difficult out of these two, so let’s start there. When creating something based off a show, I always try my best to make it look like it could actually be official content from it. For Crests, there are two major things I’ve noticed.
First, with the exceptions of Friendship, Miracles, and Destiny, all of the Crests are based off of real-world objects. Courage is the sun. Love is a heart. Knowledge is a pair of glasses. Sincerity is a leaf. Reliability is a medical cross. Hope is either a shooting star or a sunbeam. Light is a star or a flower. Kindness is also a flower. Sure, Miracles is based off the letter “M”, but that’s not an object.
Second, with the exceptions of Friendship, Reliability, Miracles, and Destiny, most of the Crests have at least one circle in their design. Courage, Hope, Reliability, and Miracles all have triangles in their designs as well.
But as I said before, you don’t need to include a circle or triangles into your design to make it look like Crest; nor do you need to base it off a real-world object. As long as YOU can see it being a legitimate Crest, then that’s all that matters.
Virtue
While I said designing your Crest would be the most difficult out the two, choosing which virtue it’s to represent can be just as challenging. The trick isn’t picking a virtue, it’s figuring out whether or not it’s a Trait, an Ideal, or Both.
Traits
Crest virtues can be split into three categories, the first being traits. These would be the “normal” Crests that the Digidestined receive. Traits are things that a person can have as a part of their personality. Courage, Love, Friendship, Reliability, Knowledge, Sincerity, Hope, and Kindness are all traits. Other examples would include Perseverance, Loyalty, Honesty, Faith, and Optimism.
Ideals
Ideals are things that aren’t substantial and are often universal concepts or theories. These would be special Crests that can only be obtained through special circumstances. The Crests found on the Golden Digi-Eggs, (Miracles and Destiny), both fit into this group of metaphysical thoughts. Dreams, Fate, Karma, and Blessings would also be considered “Golden Virtues”.
Both
Now there is only one official Crest that can be considered both a trait and an ideal: Light. As a trait, a person with Light is someone who has an overall uplifting aura around them. As an ideal, Light represents Good and pushes away Darkness which is Evil. So far, I’ve only been able to come up with one other virtue that could be an “Idealistic Trait”: Spirit.

Well, I've made up my own Digimon, and of course, she doesn't need a Crest to Digivolve, but I was thinking of making my own Crest, along with my own Armor Digi Egg and Armor Digimon.

Inkweaver22 , I have two requests and these are for a fan-made OC twin sister of Matt Ishida that I created named Madison (in the dub, Yamawa in the original dub). Her Crests are the Crests of Unity and Charity. They are a dual color, pink and blue crest, one half represents Unity, that side being blue and should have a hand being held out. The half representing Charity should be Pink and should have a hand holding out either food or money. The Crest of Unity should be reaching for the Crest of Charity's food or money. It should resemble the unity that comes with working together in a community and generosity of helping those in poverty. Inkweaver22 , I hope you'll be willing to help me.

If I had more experience with digital art, I would put up the corresponding Armor forms. As they are intended to be counterparts, and considering their basis in Greek mythology, I see both of them closely resembling the Greek hoplite warrior but with large bird wings extending from their backs. The primary differences between the two (aside from the obvious sexual dimorphism) would be as follows: Athenamon would sport warm colors whereas Prometheumon's would sport cool colors; and Prometheumon's wings would be those of a eagle while Athenamon's would be those of an owl.

To be blunt, they don't look like crests. At least, not ones you would find in the official series. But that's what makes them unique as well so it's no big deal.
