Captain Samuel Pike
a 34 year old captain and the eldest of three sons, descended from a long line of famous starfleet officers. all three were raised by their elderly aunt after the death of their parents in a transport accident. it's a mystery to many people how he became, and continues to be a captain because of his joking and loose personality. but the charisma clearly counts for something, because he is engaged to the beautiful Nora Evans (Dana's older sister).

K'Tel
a vulcan xinolinguistics officer, born and raised on Vulcan. he has been educated in over 450 languages, and can waltz and tango with great skill. originally stationed the U.S.S Omega, he was reassigned, and opted to stay on with, the Columbus. he has a great fondness for tribbles but will deny it if ever confronted.
