Description
This pendant was a gift for my mother. My dad picked out the spiderweb turquoise stone, and I made up the design. I used argentium sterling silver and decided to try my hand at hammering. The bottom two pieces of wire are flattened, though the metal hardened so they aren't very fragile. If you're interested in buying any jewelry like this, please check out my shop at [link]

The other 'commenter' maybe thought there was no backing to this. It looks to me like the very best way to do it. It's quite well-done.
I appreciate the comment you left for us too. I'm gonna watch you, okay?

Where do you start on peaces like this? because the tailing ends of the frame look rather planed but I'm trying to wrap this it my head and it feels like you would have started near the bail.

I actually started right at the bottom of the stone, and then I wrapped upwards over the stone like I usually do. Then I curled and hammered the bottom wires for that flourish.

I see, and the added wraps at the top are a different pull of wire.

the added wraps on top are from the same wires as the curled ones on the bottom ( and the hammered bottom wire turns into the bail on top ).
the corkscrew shape comes from that same sweep, after it comes around back.

thanks, I like simplicity, since the stone is the prettiest part anyway! I don't want to distract from it.

Very beautiful! May I ask how thick is your wire you are using?

thanks
on this one, I'm using 22ga square and half-round. I use in between 21 and 24 for all my pieces.

Again with the great twisties.
You're lucky that your father is good with helping you on this. My father pretty much rolls hs eyes at my mother and jewelry at thsi point. (Not that it's entirely undeserved...)
