THIS IS NOT ZUTOPH! This is just friendship. This is an idea that just popped into my head today. Zuko and Toph are so full of angst. If Zuko joined the gaang, they could be angst buddies. I can see it now...
Zuko: Daddy never loved me. He burned half my face off.
Toph: My dad loved me so much, that he hired people to kidnap me!
Zuko: My mother disappeared. I think she's dead.
Toph: I wish my mom were dead.
Zuko: Katara hates me now. I had a chance with Jin, but she would hate me if she knew what I really am.
Toph: Sokka is in love with Suki. He thinks I'm just a little girl.
Zuko: I act like an asshole and push everybody away because I don't want to get my heart broken again.
Toph: I act all tough and abrasive so people won't think I'm weak because I can't see like they do.
Zuko: I hate the world.
Toph: Me too.
