Another wonderful work by one of THE BEST oil painters I know on dA! Anna's paintings are sometimes humorous, often political, but ALWAYS unbelievably well composed, masterfully rendered and intellectual in scope. Having written this critique twice before (dA burped and I lost my post) it seems somehow futile to do this work credit.
This is a self-portrait of Anna and the first noticeable thing is the size of the work. The amount of detail Anna includes in ALL her works is a chief attraction to her work - they're photorealistic. For instance, the lace curtains in the background are so well painted that the depth is amazing. The texture of the wooden window frame is well done as are the beautiful skin tones and smooth gradients. I urge ALL my friends to take a look at Anna's work if you need help understanding the appeal of chiaroscuro and the importance of creating complex compositions.
The pose is also worthy of mention, especially when considering the title. It's a posture that seems both shy and mystifying at the same time. Either way, it's a very self-conscious pose and I surmise that this reveals a common element in the life of an artist.
In closing, I can say with heartfelt sincerity that the only fault I can find with Anna's work is that I don't see more of it.

The pose and deep shadow to the side of the face give an amazing feeling that she is about to remove her face(mask). Adds an air of mystique to a wonderful portrait.

Critique: The eye on the left looks larger than the eye on the right. The shadows on the nose make your nose look broken. Also you've used dark almost black shadows for everything face, arms, and hands, but you didn't use the right tone of shadows for the chest. Not that I'm trying to get you to accentuate the cleavage, but it looks like a flat piece of paper taped onto an otherwise three dimensional figure.
Good composition, and attention to form rendering.
