It's always interesting to see others interpretations. I see a competition between the two. I feel both women were use their prowess before their brains and modesty. I think the one sitting is more competitive and challenged by the one standing... lifting her chest and holding her figure up stiffly. It's like the other one feels no fear about her beauty disappearing and the "older" lady is beginning to see a new reality. This could be a really interesting series. I even wondered if the one sitting was reflecting on a younger "her" because it almost seems as if she knows her.
I must say, I really like you lighting and texture enhancements in this painting. Some great detail in the background (as always).

it's funny how the most natural of adversaries always end up being the best of friends because of how well they compliment each other. the beautiful woman whose modesty deprives the world of her amazing talents, and the woman who's so in love with herself that she covers every inch of wall in her house with self portraits and hangs balls from her mantle like trophies of the men she's mislead and broken merely for the bragging rights. she stands tall and proud in an almost pretentious pose, knowing that a few extra pounds in her midsection will never take away from the paralyzing power of her eyes. the confidence that comes from her natural beauty makes her arrogant and blinds her from the damage she causes herself and the potentially threatening situations she gets herself into. the other womans low self esteem has led her to work harder and reach amazing levels that most never will, but without any feeling of satisfaction. it's interesting how both women are equally beautiful but we seem to focus more on the standing figure. we too fall for one of her tricks as our eyes bounce back and forth between her face and her reflection and we almost forget that her friend is even there. there is another mirror that her friend could use but she chooses not to. is it because she's afraid of what she'll see or does she not want the extra attention? maybe she just doesn't care. it could be a sign of her finally gaining the confidence that she's deserved for so long and perhaps her friend is developing a few insecurities of her own as she grows older. the seated woman looks at the other as if slightly disgusted but also curious about what it would be like to be her, almost like she could be persuaded by an evil force. in that sense, this suggests the dangers of vanity and both extremes of confidence.

this started out as just a couple smart ass comments but i started to come up with some interesting theories so i just went with it. i had some other ideas but they contradicted most of my others. i'm sure you already know but i have to say it anyway, i don't think you're arrogant. i think you're probably as modest as jayme is. just joking around. i don't really expect you to use this either(unless you want to) i just did this for fun, so it won't hurt my feelings if you don't use it.
your email was a relief by the way. i definitley remember us as just playing around, but i had some pretty good bruises on me when i woke up. it got me worried that you might have been trying harder to fight me off than i originally realized or something. you definitley landed a couple wicked knees! haha!
