Description
I drew a Cyberman based on the model sheet from the old defunct Doctor Who animated series.I postulated that the organic portion of a being would be concentrated and held in a vessel in the abdominal cavity.
More machine then being, these Cybermen are more diabolical then forceful.
I am using these Cybermen in the "Doctor Who Role Playing Game" and the parallel universe that the Inspector is trapped in after fleeing from the Time War.

The Nelvana design would've been very interesting to see come to fruition. If the BBC could use it...

It would be very creepy looking. Like a skeleton

Interesting take. I like the face, the design is simple yet it manages to look quite sinister.
(There was an animated series of Doctor Who?)

There was a proposed series with character designs. But never made

While I prefer the Cybermen to have more signs of being human under their suits instead of totally robotic, I will admit this is a nifty design (and doesn't look like Ironman either XD). The belly jar is pretty nasty XD.

It was almost the design used in the unproduced Doctor Who animated series

Thanks I can't take credit for it. It's design left over from a Doctor Wh animated series never made. This just my take on itΒ

For my Dreamer series I created my own version of the Cybermen that are different from the Mondas Cybermen, and Pete's World.

Yeah it was during the 10th Doctor era. Wish the Mondas Cybermen appeared in the 9th Doctor era. Did you know in the proposed US version of Doctor Who the Cybermen were going to be called Cybs?

No I didn't...glad it didn't happen. I still want the Mondasian Cybermen back....enough of the Cybus ones. The newest ones are likely the Mondasian ones...but it would be nice if they got a good Cyber story on their own

Actually, the Cybermen from "A Good Man Goes To War", "Closing Time", "Nightmare In Silver", "Time Of The Doctor", "Dark Waters", "Death In Heaven", and those episodes after that had Cybermen appearances are actually the mondasians.

Atleast Paul McGann did his best as the 8th Doctor. So yeah I created my own version from Eastria created by Professor Daner Cybs who became a cyberman himself.

I've not established which Cybermen live in the Parallel universe "The Inspector" is currently trapped in. Maybe it's theseΒ cybermantra.files.wordpress.coβ¦
I drew my version of them as you can see from this thread

I've always liked the more organic cybermen but this is a neat design

I figure they are an offshoot of a phase that wanted less organics inside.

I think it's great for animated style, the more organic is probably better for live action.

For sure this one is actually based on a Doctor Who model sheet for an animated series never produced. I just dressed it up more.

I posted yesterday the first slipit of animation from the latest Nelvana based Doctor Who cartoon I'm working on with BlueBeacon. It shows a Cyberman based off the concept art we've both seen.

Seriously though, cool robot design. Forgive my lack of knowledge of Dr. Who's enemies, but, what's the difference between the cybermen and the daleks besides looks? I mean, they're both mostly mechanical but have organic insides right?

Then there's the Pete's World Cybermen that are alot different from the Mondas Cybermen but share the same goal.

Inspector97 In reply to KaijuDuke [2011-04-06 03:36:13 +0000 UTC]
Yup both are essentailly cyborgs. Though you could just say there is a nasty blob of hate driving a tank in the case of the Dalek. Whereas the Cybermen are from Earth's ancient twin planet. When it left orbit they evolved to survive and became Cybermen. They are creatures devoid of emotion and convert other suitable beings into Cybermen.....been doing that for decades before the Borg.
