I was thinking about what I would do if I were to run a Trek game for my firends. My thought was to borrow from Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda and have a story that takes place shortly after the fall of the federation and tell the story of one surviving ship in a universe in which the UFP has been shattered and enemies battle over control of what worlds were once free.I've never been a huge fan of the TNG timeline, though I do still consider myself a fan, but I figure if the Federation would fall it might be most interesting in that time.
In this "sorta" poster we have Lieutenant Erika Deetrich, Captain Shras Endilev, Commander S'Claulan and Commander K'Zhen.....characters based on my rpg group and names courtesy of several name generators that translated their names to Andorian, Vulcan and Klingon.

If you have done any stories on this - like to see. I mean I am not a fan of that time line either - and love to see how the Federation fell anyhoo.

I don't right fan fics....and sadly don;t have the patiece right now for a comic.
The Akira is a good ship...but I was thinking a Saber would be a better choice for this scenario as it is smaller and less powerful. A crew of an Akira might feel they have a fighting chance...and I figure this story is about survival and inspiration.

Maybe a Norway class would be more your liking - she's suppose to be a diplomatic ship - unless it smacks of Janeway's Voyager...

TOS worked - TNG sort of worked because Gene was behind it, when it died you can tell where it was heading - I never liked DS9 - that contradicted Star Trek's concept; and Voyager and Enterprise blew great ideas with the curse of ineptness.

I agree. Gene however kept pushing for absolute peace in the future...everyone got along with everyone. He seemed to forget that conflict creates drama....but after his passing there was more soap opera and time travel and crap i think he would likely have said no to....or at least I would have. DS9 was a good concept...even if it was a poor mans Babylon 5. Voyager quickly got stupid....lets get home! Wait a nebula...let's go look at it. It's pretty. Enterprise was an insult to anyone who loved TOS....Who is Jonathan Archer? What happened to Robert April? NX-01.....left over Voyager design and never existed in stated continuity...I could go on about Vulcan booty shots...but you get my point

I love the fact that you blended the TOS and TNG Klingons! This guy, to my eye, seems more TOS'ish. The hair and the expression both really give that impression. He's as sneaky as a Cardassian (but don't let him hear me say that!

There's a LOT of people who think that the notes for the show that would become Andromeda (before Kevin Sorbos took it over and made it Dylan: The Legendary Journeys) were Roddenberry's thoughts on the fall of the federation. I was thinking this just today, after contemplating the utter trainwreck that STO has become, as to what a post-TNG-era version of Andromeda Ascendant might look like.
I gotta admit, I like the look of the Klingon and the Vulcan there. The uniforms are also quite spiffy! Were you inspired by Final Frontier?

No...actually I was inspired by watching a con video of the whole cast in Calgary and the thought that a survival story might be better then Voyagers story was like

I haven't done small press since the 80s. It would take a lot of time and effort. My other work would likely stop.....and I do like doing pin up art and such

Well, while I enjoyed The Next Generation big time, I can respect a guy who knows what he likes, and this storyline sounds pretty fun. I like the idea of the crew struggling to survive in a universe where the Federation is broken and divided, basically raises the odds.
Your Andorian Captain looks pretty kickass with those scars, will other Star Trek OCs of yours be appearing as part of the crew? Or perhaps as allies or enemies aboard other ships?
