Ignore them. Franz Joepsh created the Dreadnaught class- 3 nacelles- back in 1975- long before anyone ever said anything about any "2 nacelle" rule. He also created the Destroyer/ Scout class- one nacelle- in the same Technical Manual- and it was seen on the monitors in "The Warth of Khan" . You can find the pages uploaded here:

I own the first edition copy of the Technical Manual. It was the basis for all my Star Trek rpging with my friends. Before Starfleet Battles and FASA Star Trek

Thank you. If you want to see more ships- both starfleet and Romulan- I should have part 3 done in a few more weeks.

DUDE! Actual engineers from the future came back to this time to critique your ship.
You should be honored!
Ain't imagination grand!
Nice ideas. Are there side views?

What do you mean by critics from the future?

The rules on nacelles, etc.
It's my own little peeve on folks who seemingly know "The RULES" for imaginary stuff.
Like folks who say that Star Trek ship nacelles *HAVE* to be in pairs and *NEVER* flush with the main ships hulls, etc., etc., as if they were ACTUAL ENGINEERS who REALLY build these things (and as these ships "exist" in the future, I figure the critics must come from there and actually build them!)
Sorry, if my little joke failed to make you laugh, but when I see comments like those posted in the thread it makes me laugh. Someone exercises a little imagination, a little "out-of-the-box" thinking and here come the folks who know "The Rules" (especially the Star Trek Ship modellers!)
Note: I am not knocking you folks who model ships. I acknowledge your skills, but c'mon...

Ok. I get it now.
Yeah I get a bit annoyed when someone gives me the warp nacelle thing. I've been a fan of TOS all my life and one of my fav books I got was an original Star Fleet Technical manual with the plastic cover. I assume it's first printing. In it's glorious pages is the Dreadnought. It happily sits there with it's three engines declaring its awesomeness. So as I have argued many times it is the inspiration for my designs as when we played Starfleet Battles we used this book for the inspiration for original designs.

I've done some of the TOS and Movie versions...but not had time for the TNG or excelsior types yet...

And there is the rule of only two engines...which I have also ignored just for the fun of it. I just wanted to mess with a design we used in the Star Trek RPG. I don't expect to be approved by any official body. So I excuse the nerd moment.

Two engines is not a rule. A pair of nacelles is the rule. Which still makes these ships not possible unless each nacelle had two pairs of warp coils.

Sorry you're wrong. (See: USS Kelvin - Star Trek, Modified Galaxy class - ST:TNG All Good Things..)

And then there was the Freedom and Niagara classes (Wolf 359 Graveyard) and the Saladin/Hermes from FASA, long before even the Kelvin - not to mention the Federation-class Dreadnought, the first of the "Three Engined Monsters."

Thank you. I was just throwing up some recent proof, as for the "Dreadnought," I thought it was just the Enterprise out of mothballs. Didn't realize they named a class for it.

*warning nerd moment* most federation ships have off set warp nasals because it's not good for the crew to be in the middle of them <.< though it's not as streamlined a design.*nerd moment over*

I think your wrong about the nacelle needing to be offset for the crews benefit. What about the Defiant class from DS9? It's nacelles are integrated into the hull of the ship.
