I was asked to do this by someone else....so I don't consider the design mine at all.

Well oddly enough, I did that piece inspired by someone else's design as well so...hmm, the plot thickens!

I think my only original design is the USS AMSTERDAMΒ inspector97.deviantart.com/artβ¦
and maybe my Andorian yards designs

Now THIS is a cool concept!
A Miranda/Constitution Refit class!
VERY Impressive!

Thanks Not my idea but I worked nicely

the given dimensions aren't correct. given the fact the saucer is the Miranda-Class-saucer the ship is 141.5 meters broad. taking this figure as basis one can easily calculate the hight by using the given schematics. the result is a hight of 89.77 meters and a length of 329.75 meters.

My apologies...I was using a scale I had to create when all I had for reference is the old ROS Tech Manual.

apologies for what, mate? making mistakes is human, so cheer up. but it was fine if u corrected the figures.

Well I'm not the builder I just ran across his site while doing a random Star Trek ships search.
I thought that I'd introduce you to his work. If you don't mind.
But if you do. My bad and I am really sorry for leading you on to think that I actually made them so please do not hate me for it.

No...I got the idea. It is cool to see actual models of the ships I grew up with. Thx

its warp 7/9 and the firing arcs for the photorps are 4 fwd 2 aft. Other than that purely tech detail excellent rendition very well done

your doing great
looks like I'll have to make more ships in that class now lol to match your naming.

She can't reach 12? I will make repairs.

karanua In reply to Inspector97 [2009-03-31 03:13:47 +0000 UTC]
seeing as 10 is infinite speed 12 is an impossibility.
π: 0 β©: 1
Inspector97 In reply to karanua [2009-03-31 03:36:47 +0000 UTC]
Well if you look at "Mr Scott's Guide to the Enterprise the emergency speed of the new warp units is 12. The TNG scale leaves these speeds in the dust...warp10x1000 or whatever their more realistic scale is. I have the TNG book that explains it but care very little. So sadly old scale 10 means nothing to transwarp and new warp scaling. Now that I've nered out completely I'm gonna go shoot myself with a Playmates Phaser.

karanua In reply to Inspector97 [2009-03-31 04:26:13 +0000 UTC]
I prefer the old scale too. Used to play thr rpg and got used to computing travelling times in my head using the old formula. Next generation really screwed things up. Stick with the old stuff it looks better but the 7/9 stands, its only a cruiser and not a very powerful one at that. Btw the ring ship is the intrepid - the only constitution variant to be crewed soley by vulcans.
π: 0 β©: 1
Inspector97 In reply to karanua [2009-03-31 04:30:15 +0000 UTC]
Is that the class then...or just a ship in that class?
I agree with you old warp scale all the way. I just thought with the extra mass your ship had it was a natural for greater speed.

JohnStaton In reply to Inspector97 [2009-03-31 05:44:38 +0000 UTC]
Karuna's right, the Vulcan crewed ship from "Immunity Syndrome" was the USS Intrepid. (NCC-1631.)
That Intrepid was a Constitution Class vessel. In TNG era, there would be an Intrepid Class, of which, the USS Voyager was one.

It sounds familiar.

Follow the link to the creators home page. I beleive there is an explanation. I didn't pay it alot of attention as I was asked to create a schematic for her.

I wiki'ed the name. Sister ship to WWII's infamous Bismark.
I don't know if that's a pedigree that would make it to a Starfleet christening.
That has no bearing on your design, however. It's still excellent.

Inspector97 In reply to JohnStaton [2009-03-31 01:09:53 +0000 UTC]
The sailors in the Germany navy were fighting men...and deserve some respect. They did their duty even if their leaders were of a different morality. Even after the Bismark sank the Hood...the British Navy fished survivors from the water after they brutalized that Germany ship. Just my opinion
π: 0 β©: 1
JohnStaton In reply to Inspector97 [2009-03-31 04:01:06 +0000 UTC]
I suppose I used the wrong word when I said "pedigree".
I had no intention to infer names from the Bismark class would likely not be considered for Starfleet vessels due to their German heritage. I was referring what you identified as "a different morality" which is thought of, more often than the individual German sailor, whenever those names are spoken.
My thought was that the fighting man would be better celebrated with a name with less baggage.
However, I do have to consider the fact that the NCC-1701D's sister ship is called Yamato. I suppose it's safe to speculate that three or four centuries hence, these names for all their present poignancy, will just be pretty words.

Constitution-Class engineering section, with a Miranda-Class saucer.
This is like chocolate and peanut butter man. Who'd have thought they'd go so great together?
