Description
A great Green Lantern in his own right....Kyle like many 90s DC replacements, didn't get to keep the mantle. Like Jean Paul Valley (Bleh!) Artemis Walley West as the Flash or even Superman's stand ins they got shuffled of into the shadow of those they attempted to replace, aspired to be, or live up to.In Kyle's case her got to date Donna Troy and Jade.....not too bad

As part of the Corps : Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner, Simon Baz. Alan Scott is a Green lantern but not in the same way the others are

Now I'm curious as to if you will explore on Kyle Rayner's training to become a White Lantern and do an image each of the emotion spectrum versions of Kyle including the Gray Version.

I never followed the series. As I miss his GL self and never liked Ion...I don't think so

Well in the Wrath of the First Lantern arc Kyle had the issue of the rings from every corps (aside from Black and White) drawn to him for an unknown reason. Later it is revealed that Kyle is capable of mastering each Emotional Spectrum and eventually became the White Lantern to fight against the First Lantern that was abused by the Guardians. Geoff Johns did it and it is a very entertaining arc that I saw on ComicStorian's channel on youtube.

But it is an interesting concept that would yield some images if you get interested. There are head shots of him in each of the corps before he ascends to a White Lantern.

Ahh, my favorite GL, and my favorite comic character period. Kyle was a bit of an underdog, but I still hold him in high regard. Also he dated Dr. Soranik Natu for a while. Can't forget that~

Yeah- I miss cheeky 90s Kyle. I'm still pretty angry that DC brought Hal back and watered his character down. He is and always will be my favorite comic character though TuT It's just too bad that DC couldn't get past Hal Jordan for long enough to give him a chance. He always lived in his shadow, and I hate that. To me, Kyle is so much more interesting of a character because he's imperfect.

Still, what happened to Kyle and Wally and the icky mid 2000's storylines and Retcons needed a a REBOOT to fix. Bleh indeed.

I don't agree. Some of the characters were not what we wanted...Batman in particular for me...but Knightfall...and the return of Bruce Wayne made for interesting reading. I personally love the story Artemis was created for. I love Hippolyta's betrayal of another so her daughter might live...sacrificing Artemis. I like Kyle and I like Wally. As much as I wanted Bruce and Diana back...I was happy with Flash and Green lantern

Kyle ultimately suffered from bad writing / editorial decisions. He was just never as interesting after his original girlfriend became the trope for getting fridged.
Definitely a wasted character as she would have made a far more interesting GL.
Still dating Donna (Wonder Girl / Darkstar / Troika) Troy and Jade as (why) Carol (Star Sapphire) Ferris isn't too bad a prize for runner up.

I remeber Steel from the Superman cartoons in the 90's. He was pretty cool. He helped Superman after a battle with Metallo weakened him and then took on Metallo as he and his henchmen terrorized a neighborhood. He was pretty badass. Just like this drawing!

He was such a unique take on a Green Lantern, but he's been kinda bounced back and forth since then about how important he is and how much he's actually used.

Kyle Rayner is my third favorite comic book character of them all. Only beaten by Superman at number 1 and Spider-Man at 2 and Kyle and Peter are neck and neck.

Kyle's still around in the DCU to my knowledge, but after they decided to bring Hal Jordan back, they exiled him Oa where he was leading the GL Corps as part of a side title with the other Earth GLs. In the more recent issues they've had him dating Carol Ferris, Star Sapphire... So while he's lost the spotlight with regard to the GLs... he did get Hal's girlfriend. Though I don't get to see comics that much, so I don't know for sure where that is now precisely.

Yep... which is sad as Kyle was actually my favorite GL. He was an artist, which made the idea of having a power ring that creates anything you think up more interesting. His costume was more the standard GL costume that Hal Jordan wore, and in a way, he had the freedom to be Green Lantern in a way that none of the others were. Many of the old Hal Jordan stories had him battling with what the Guardians allowed as part of the Corps... Kyle never really had that until the point they brought Jordan back...
Now that in and of itself isn't necessarily a problem, but as they did so, they decided to also bring back everything that had been there before Jordan went nuts and killed the Guardians and GL Corps. Now, they did have some stories with Kyle trying to recreate the Corps and "raise" new Guardians with Ganthet... and that had good potential for maybe a new and better GL Corps to work toward... but instead they seemed to hit a sort of "cosmic reset button" which had Kyle in the background facing the same challenges that Jordan faced earlier with no Guardian seeming to learn from the mistakes of their past...
