It's fairly formulaic... kinda like the early Sailor Moon... but it's got some interesting ideas and beautiful graphics that keep it from being boring.
It's like a cross between Spider-Man and Sailor Moon actually, the struggle of highschool life versus superheroing, the connection to so many of the villains, the transformations and magical powers, and the general interplay between the main hero and heroine (pictured above).

You won't miss anything by not watching (it's a rather standard kid's superhero show), but at the same time it's still highly enjoyable in it's own right. Mostly because of the banter between the two leads.

the only exception is when a citizen (particularly a lady) is rendered indecent and it is the task of the hero to offer them their cape to wrap around them.

Taking off his mask is probably the last thing of Chat would do, but it is on the list and Ladybug would probably follow the secret part in secret identity.
well I can't speak for everyone but the reason I watch the show is finding out the one way or the other when the masks come off.

Ah, but that's because he likely sees himself AS Chat Noir, not Adrian Agreste.Β The same way Batman sees himself AS Batman, not Bruce Wayne.Β At least, that's how I've interpreted some of his actions.Β It's an interesting contrast to Marinette's view on the whole thing.
But you're right, instant the masks are off... those two are going to have SUCH an interesting conversation.

You are right in that it's a kind of a Batman/Superman dichotomy. Where Ladybug is like how when Clark Kent becomes Superman, all they really do is change clothes and adopt a more confidant attitude; Adrian is more like how it takes Bruce Wayne donning the cowl to become who he really is underneath.
Still makes it interesting that Marinette has such an idealized view of Adrian, but he's really the playful pun master she's constantly eye rolling and on the verge of smacking.

It's an interesting contrast between the two.Β One can only wonder how that'll continue with the other superheroes who are on their way in the next season (or so rumor would have it).
Its like the say, in order to truly love someone, you have to accept them faults and all.
