Doctor #5 is one of my faves. Lots of great stories, properly English. Β He probably liked your picture a great deal.

You met Peter Davison?! Cool!
I met Colin Baker in April of this year. He signed my copyΒ of the Players reprint and I got a picture with him.

I met him two years ago. I couldn't afford a picture with him.
What "Players reprint"?

OK, a few years ago, a 6th Doctor novel was release called "Players". It involved 6 and Peri going to various points in Winston Churchill's life to stop an alien group called The Players, who treat changing history as a game.
In 2013, during the lead up to the 50th Anniversary Special, 11 Doctor Who books were picked to be reprinted. "Players" was chosen to represent 6.

Ah... I have that book. I thought you might have been referring to a "Players" manual from a Doctor Who RPGΒ

Nope. I meant Players the novel. That reprint is actually the first Classic Doctor book I ever got.

Congrats on meeting Peter. I once had the pleasure of meeting Colin Baker at a con about two years ago. He was really nice, despite the fact that I got totally starstruck and just started tripping over my words lol

As did I. After my little speech on how I haven't met a Doctor Who in my life and how he was short changed by the BBC and I was so glad he was my first.... he bowed to me basking in the over praise.

I've always felt sorry for Colin - he never got to cut loose as the Doctor, same as Matt Smith. Both are such good actors and they just...had the reins put on and tightened until they were just parroting the lines. Matt got a bit more leeway, but still...Sad for both, but they've both got a place in the legacy, and that makes up for a lot.

Precisely. He was, within the script, allowed to BE The Doctor. My daughter got me an autograph by him a few years back - she said he was really nice.
