Looks great and pretty accurate to her classic design. I don't mind her new look since she's a little thicker but I absolutely love that Petrea Burchard's back voicing her. I swear I felt like a little kid again when I heard her voice coming out of my favorite Space Pirate's mouth once more.

I don't blame you since 80s and early 90s dubbing wasn't all that hot. Revolutionary Girl Utena's dubbing is criminal and not worth listening to. But around the mid-90s did anime finally start getting decent dubbings. Petrea Burchard's Ryoko was one of the first times where a real actress audition for VA work and it really showed. Heck, I remember how pretty much every 90s anime had Tiffany Grant and Monica Rial voicing every female character.

Even if dubbing is better acting these days I often find the emotional inflection of the original voice doesn't match how the western actor is made to deliver the dialogue

The only time I notice a real lacking is when it's time for a character to scream. I can count on one hand the number of VAs who can do scream without sounding... off. I think it's because voice actors always adopt a character but screaming is such a natural act that it can't be forced so when it's tried it just sounds unnatural.
