The two droids who belong to my brother's STAR WARS characterΒ Β Rescued from a scrap pile on the garbage planet of Odridan, R2-A7 and D-86 do their best to help maintain the ship and physically labour. D-86 is a RA-7 protocol droid with memory lapses. The player get a great laugh out of things he says, like: "That is an excellent plan sir. Who are you again?"Most people in the universe would throw them back onto the heap...but they are part of the Death Sand's family

He was a sort vigilante and eventually joined up with Rebels.

I mean a character in general. But I would imagine he joins the Rebels mostly because they're helping him try to prevent the Imperial backed slavery going on in the Outer Rim. He was doing fine fighting slavers til they got Imperial backing.

I see. I have used slavery to help bond part of my team together. Captain WolfΒ Β rescued LarΒ Β from slavers and has a blood oath to return the favour by saving his life in return.

For my guy the war on slavery is especially personal. And he's something of a boogey-man to the Slavers for a time when they had no idea what he looked like. They originally thought it was an enraged Wookie Alpha that left that mess on slaver ships.
