My mind wants to turn 6 of the nacelles into death lasers that can revolve around the tubular section. It would scare anyone into surrendering if they even thought it show up in battle. The only thing I don't envision it doing is destroying whole planets. That doesn't mean it can't render planets uninhabitable from orbit though.

Well, with enough pressure behind that silly string, it'll probably glog something of an enemy ship, or be the obligitory tea bagging of a destroyed ship.
If all else fails, you could just load some red shirts into the torpedo tubes and shoot some out, they're expendable after all!

Just make an automated system for them to be force fed into it, making sure to feed them, because live ammo is so much better than dead.

Just be sure to have enough low class rations and water bottles for them, remember, you want live ammo, not dead ammo. The live ones hit harder.
