Funny joke though I don't recall any catfights happening while Bendis was head Avengers writer. As I recall, his run was marred by all the yearly xovers (Civil War, World War Hulk Secret Invasion, & Dark Reign). Truthfully, I'm amazed he was able to write real stories since most authors hate having their storylines interrupted by these big time events. I remember Peter David ended up leading X-Factor after a couple years just because he got sick of Marvel telling him to put what he wrote on the selves and have his comic take part in the yearly xover.

What if they fought? Captain Marvel would flatten Lady Sif. Sif would be lying in a crater in pain.

I Liked bendis' style, and Hero Vs Hero events get sales, i always thought that the reasons were well explained, WWH - Hulk Was angry that the illuminati killed Ceaira and Their Baby (Skaar didnt die obviously), Civil War - Cap and Iron Man had different opinions that put them either side of a massive issue, AvX Cyclops wanted to expose the earth to a cosmic entity without knowing why or what it would do, Cap had to protect Earth That potential threat, i do admit that there are alot but i enjoy reading them, so how is that bad? Great art though, Hawkeye gets super strength when there is a catfight a-brewing!

Like all Joss Whedon shows, the first season is the hardest to get through...

Can't agree. I love Firelfy. Season 1 and 2 of Buffy made the show and I liked Doll House.
AoS I've given almost the who season and I simply don't care if they live or die. Plus the show comes across like a poor mans Firefly

If you want to see a Joss Whedon show with a truly awful first season, go see "Angel"! Also it's last season was a downer, but every season in between was riveting! Even some of his comics start out slow like that.

I have to confess the only Joss Whedon show I've actually watched is "Firefly" which was tragically cut short (I still wonder if that show would have done better on the Sci-Fi/SyFy channel or one of the other cable networks) - and I probably would never have looked into it if I hadn't seen "Serenity" - and I would never have seen Serenity if not for an admittedly very spoilerish stage parody at Balticon (sci-fi-fantasy fan convention for Baltimore) many moons ago. My sister was a big fan of Buffy though; not sure if she was an Angel fan or not. Never did see "The Doll House".
I like Agents of Shield and I'm not about to start an argument over it here. To each their own.

Has anyone heard about Firefly fans (or King of The Hill or Futurama) who hate Seth MacFarlane as they blame him for the cancellation of their shows, as they claim he was behind the engineering to get Greg The Bunny out of the dreaded 6pm slot, that caused any show to get preempted if the NFL Game for the day went into Overtime. Some claim MacFarlane is gunning to get The Simpsons off the air so he can replace it with another show of his or his friend's creation. Do I just know some real cranks, or has anyone else heard this accusation?
Also LOVHM(Lion-O-VS-He-Man), I think ABC is working harder on getting the Goldbergs another season, if it wasn't for the tremendous flop of Killer Women, I doubt I would see Agents of Shield next Tuesday. Don't worry, you can count on me to watch Agents of Shield! I want to see if Whedon's second season greatness rule holds true!

I've never heard anyone blame Seth MacFarlane for the cancellation of Firefly, a series that could have easily run at least 5 seasons, or those other two shows, especially not when Futurama got kicked to the curb only to rebound in DVD movie form. I have heard people blame Teen Titans GO! and to a lesser extent Beware the Batman for the cancellations of the CGI Green Lantern and Young Justice, and then Beware the Batman, a friggin' Batman show of all things, got cancelled reducing the DC Nation block (which they were obviously trying to sabotage from early on in favor of dumb, goofy, stupid little boy humored shows) to one crappy comedy show (or at least it looked as such from a distance), which some just blame on bad management in general on the part of the incompetent Cartoon Network execs who can't seem to capitalize on action based shows in this day & age (granted they're not the only ones it seems). I mean c'mon now, if you can't capitalize on Batman, the most overexposed DC character who seems to be the only character the WB folk care about or have any faith in then there's clearly something wrong with you and/or how you're running the network.
As for trying to get the Simpsons cancelled, well, at this point I can't really fault anyone for trying to do that because that show should have been discontinued like 10-15 years ago.
Sometimes I feel like I'm in the minority of folks who like Agents of SHIELD - a common complaint I heard early on was "not enough character development" and I was like "do you expect 5 or 6 years of character development crammed into one season?" Note this comment is NOT aimed at anyone here. Nice to know I"m not the only one who likes it.
I haven't watched the Goldbergs so I can't comment on that one.

I know his style well. J Michael Strazynski is similar in his laying down the plot. But I hated Conner in Angel and the whole wreck Cordilia thing

Strazynski's Babylon 5 is a terrible mess in the first season. The acting is wooden and laughable. Yet what kept it going was the interesting concepts it raised. It was more like a Deep Space 9, but set in an earlier era of history.
But both Strazynski and Whedon are world builders. These are guys who probably have a chest full of stories they wrote dating back to when they were eleven years old. They hit you with so many concepts it's dizzying.
Though I think the best example of this type of Experimental Sci-Fi series is Star Hunter. Many interesting concepts. Many things rethought out in a way no seemed to think of before. Realistic and yet fantastic. Oh, and terrible acting

Agreed. I have no love for DS9. It was a clunky attempt at a more gritty Trek universe and then went out of it's way to try and do what Babylon 5 did right.
Don't think I've ever seen Star Hunter, but with a B flick title like that it might not be surprising I didn't give it a chance

i think its funny to go back through the old what ifs and look for ones that have been done in mainstream marvel and x-men continuity. seriously like over half. it's pretty funny.

"What If..." was an outlet for Marvel writers to just write the crazy AU stories, like Namor or Spider-Man joining the Fantastic Four, the Dark Phoenix Saga ending with Jean Grey still alive, etc. Mostly I was just wanted the pic to poke fun at Marvel - and in particular Brian Bendis's - apparent obsession with hero vs. hero events in recent years, made worse by the fact that the reasons for the heroes fighting often make no damn sense and aren't thought out very well.
