What if a British SciFi Drama reboot of the Mexican Telenovela Marimar had an episode or story arc like Herman Melville's Moby-Dick?

For those who don't know this Mexican Telenovela: Marimar is a Mexican Telenovela about a rags to riches girl that seeks revenge against the family of her husband for her arrest and the murders of her grandparents. Many will compare it to Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo.

About Moby-Dick: My favorite novel of all time, Moby-Dick tells the story of Ishamel, an able seaman who signs aboard the Whaleship Pequod, commanded by the megalomaniac Captain Ahab, who lost his leg to an Albino Sperm whale called Moby-Dick. Filled with revenge on the animal, Ahab rallies his crew to join him in his crusade to hunt and kill Moby-Dick.

How I would make it work: Ahab serves as inspiration for the disgraced royal navy officer and veteran of the Falklands War, Captain Bart Cusack, who lost everything because of Lord Aldama's death and the influence of Donald Simpson and returns to Britain after years exile to seek revenge on Simpson, the Aldama family and the British People. If Marimar and Sergio serve as the equivalents to Edmond Dantes and Victor Frankenstein, they would certainly see in Cusack and Simpson dark reflections of what they are and could be if they became obsessed with their hate.
